Description Big note: When you submit your dolls to Deviantart, which I expect you already know how to do. Always make sure you credit for making SSMU and any body bases of her you may use. Also make sure to credit every and all artist of any bases and template you use on your dolls as they deserve the credit in how long took them to make them.

Everything I did in my tutorial you can also do in Paint.NET if any of you have or use that program.

This is tutorial I made to help my friend and any newer SSMU Doll makers.

I've been working on this for week or more. This is also my first tutorial so I hope its okay and helpful to several people. This was made in way expecting you to already know how to open ms paint, open pics, be able to copy and paste, make new folders, find folders images are saved in, and know how to save as.

There will also be second part little later posted to help people who have Gimp and Photoshop to make SSMU Dolls. And to help SSMU dollers add transparent background to their dolls if they happen to have Gimp or Photoshop programs.

There will also be tutorial eventually posted to help teach people how to make their own SSMU Clothing and Clothes Templates.

Glad it can be useful. Biggest point of making this was so easy for new people to get into doing ssmu dolls.

my biggest issue is color changing if you can help that, that would be awesome

DIY-Gamer In reply to rnko26 [2016-06-21 20:04:45 +0000 UTC]

Alright I can try to help with that. I mostly been using bucket to fill in each pixel at a time, but maybe can learn tricks to help people. You use MS Paint to do your dolls?

rnko26 In reply to DIY-Gamer [2016-06-22 05:12:58 +0000 UTC]

i think so I'm not sure I just know that if I chose the color I want for the mane color and then choose the color I want for the back ground and run over it with the eraser and it only changes the one color my problem is colorΒ pallets

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DIY-Gamer In reply to rnko26 [2016-06-23 00:21:43 +0000 UTC]

You need color palletes for ponies or SSMU Dolls or both?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

rnko26 In reply to DIY-Gamer [2016-06-23 20:56:30 +0000 UTC]

you have ponies? both please
thanks

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DIY-Gamer In reply to rnko26 [2016-06-24 03:12:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I've been making pony adopts here starting recently. Well I do has tons of good palette's can use here blknblupanther.deviantart.com/… that I like to use for some of my SSMU stuff and ponies. But I'll still make sure to make a tutorial on palette's as there are few times you can't find color you want and you have to make it. Or like when I do unicats I need more shades that have and have to make ones in between.

please make the second part to this tutorial. I already know how to make my figures transparent but making the clothes it hard as hell to do. Then again, it is designing.Β

LtS: How do you make an animation? Can you make a Tutorial? By the way, I use MS Paint.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DIY-Gamer In reply to BigLittleSisters [2011-12-22 00:22:14 +0000 UTC]

For my animations I use Gimp which is free program to download. But I think there is some good tutorials on DA here for that. I'll find some for you if you want.

DIY-Gamer In reply to Kuri-No-Tama [2011-08-31 02:23:23 +0000 UTC]

When you first go in it is small. You just need to click on it and it will go full size.

Kuri-No-Tama In reply to DIY-Gamer [2011-08-31 02:52:08 +0000 UTC]

i did that and got the stupid x thingy...

DIY-Gamer In reply to Kuri-No-Tama [2011-08-31 02:54:21 +0000 UTC]

Well then you'd have to reload page as it didn't load right or on right side there is green arrow with Download Image. Click that and will bring it up in new window full size. Sorry DA been being glitchy on everything.

Thats cool. I got my new computer which has windows 7 from my uncle on christmas after my dad passed. I like this computer but its still an off brand so may eventually get new one, but ms paint program is good I think.

wow that's amazing. i never thought of doing ssmu that way. i pretty much do it like a doll dress up i.e. dollzmania or the doll palace but that is a very interesting way to do it. i also use paint.net it's really good and a lot better than photoshop to me personally.
very good again with the tutorial

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DIY-Gamer In reply to PhoenixOfTheFireLily [2011-08-22 10:37:30 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Well yeah its easy to do that with program that helps give you layers and so many tools to help. This way though helps people who may not have those kinda programs. And this is way I've just began doing ssmu since I began and everyone loves end result so it works.

Thanks. I think my big thing in my art is I make sure to pay attention to every detail to try to get it right. Especially for doll of Sailor Moon I did I just haven't posted yet. Its very different then others as tried to make it look exactly like off anime. Need to finish brooch and get it posted up.

Nice Tutorial! This will definitely help out some of the newer dollers! On a another note, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who does their dolls in MS Paint.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DIY-Gamer In reply to Icelilly [2011-08-22 06:59:37 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, hopefully it will help them. Well MS Paint is only program I have other than gimp. And MS Paint is easier to do pixel art in.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Icelilly In reply to DIY-Gamer [2011-08-22 07:13:06 +0000 UTC]

I agree. I have Photoshop CS2 and I find it harder to make pixels in. So I only use it when I need to make my BG transparent or animate something.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DIY-Gamer In reply to Icelilly [2011-08-22 10:39:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that's all I use gimp for also. Along with linearting and coloring my anime art I do.

You're welcome. I do hope it will help new and future SSMU Dollers.

I just need to take little break and then I'll be able to work on Part 2 of this for Gimp and Photoshop programs. Also make the SSMU Clothes Tutorial to show others how to make their own clothing.
