He looks so different when he pulls his fringe back xD I love drawing this guys hair so much aaaaaaaaaah I think his arm is too short though. Ah well.
Edit: I fixed the arm a bit, it still looks a bit off but its much better now
Merms. I love drawing them so very much they are always so much fun to do and very relaxing uwu but yessss you guys seem to like him a lot and asked for more of him so here you goooo~ My next goal is to start drawing with more context in the pieces rather than characters on their own doing nothing in particular ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He is so cute, I love his coloring is beautiful and I really want to brush his hair it looks so pretty and soft <3
His back story is sad but understandable and I'm glad he has animal friends to keep him company.

If I can say this without offending you: If you're making a new goal for yourself, maybe you could have him and your other characters interacting with animals? Like the merbaby, he could talk to an octopus or something!
It's just an idea, I thought of it because of my mer muse. He has a sea friend that he talks to all the time and it'd be fun to see what sea creatures your mer would interact with.

In my mer world nobody has all the abilities that stories say mer people have (like growing legs or being able to control water) half of the time they'll just be normal with no special power, and the other times they'll develop one of these abilities at some point in their lives.
Butters falls into the former and can't communicate with animals unfortunately. :') But this guy here actually can! Surviving being chained to the bottom of the ocean in one spot for as long as him wouldn't have been possible had he not developed this ability. The animals bring him food and generally take care of him, If it wasn't for them he would've have died a long time ago ; - ;

Oh that's really interesting! I'd love to see how your mer people in your world get around when there are problems if a majority can't exactly communicate with other sea creatures. And aw, I'm glad the animals take care of him, he seems far too precious to get killed due to starvation.

That sounds awesome! If you have an interesting question or curiosity anytime that would help develop my world a bit by answering, I'm sure it would help when thinking of things do draw! I think my trouble at the moment is the two mers I've introduced at the moment are both loners. This guy for obvious reasons and Butters because he lives in lakes/rivers rather than the ocean; not that he would dislike having friends he just doesnt have the opportunity very often xD

I'll be sure to try and think of some questions some time for you then! I like to think I'm pretty good at thinking of creative questions, haha. And if Butters is living in lakes / rivers, it would make sense that he and the other mer are lonely. For him, you could always introduce a human at the body of water he's currently living at. That way, if you haven't shown his feelings towards humans, you would be able to do it that way!
With the merman I use ( even though our worlds and canons are different, haha ) on Facebook, he often finds his way into lakes via underwater tunnels that connect to the ocean. So if you ever wanted the two to interact in some way, you could use an idea like that.
And if you don't have anyone to help develop your world, I'd love to hear about it. There's no better way to create a world of your imagining than to talk about it with someone that doesn't know about it; that way you can find what sounds good and what you could change or get rid of.
At least that's how it is for me as a writer, haha- xD
