yah.. we read The Great Gatsby in class and then started watching the movie. The characters pretty much aren't much like I imagined them.. and whenever that happens, I am compelled to draw them. So I did XD From left to right, incase you can't read the handwriting, it's Jay Gatsby, Tom Buchannen, Daisy Buchannen, Nick Callaway, and Jordan Baker. For those of you that that means anything to

Your drawing skill is amazing, don't change a thing about this. But I have to complain about how un-20s the women's hair looks here.

Well the book is set in 1922 and in that time some people still had the 1910s type of hair and clothes, so it's not that un-20s, if the book was set in let's say 1927 that would be more of an inaccuracy.

I love the Disney style! Though I doubt anyone else would agree with me, I think it might adapt into a pretty good Disney film. Especially after seeing this. The characters were captured so perfectly. I love it!

I like that, when characters in a movie differ from how you saw them in the book, you draw them. It proves that you see them in an original way.
I could tell who most of them were just by looking at them. Although they don't exactly match how I saw them in my mind, they definitely fit within the realm that the book offers. (If that makes any sense.) Tom is so...Tom. So very appropriate for him. And I love Nick's expression, "staring-into-space-while-thinking-about-the-whole-'rich'-'people'-thing". Daisy looks very much like Ariel from Disney's The Little Mermaid, though, I noticed. (Which kind of makes sense, in a way...madly in love with somebody who she really doesn't know as well as her feelings would suggest, in defiance of some male authority in her life as well as societal mores, interested in a different way of life the man she loves represents to her...)

I experienced that same thing when I watched to movie! The most disappointing character in the movie was Tom (for me) He looked nothing like I imagined him. Your Tom is almost exactly what I thought of

I have a love-hate relationship with this book.
The Buchanans are horrible people, but gatsby is da bomb. hes kind of shallow-just look at the object of his affections! only a shallow person could be so in love with someone like Daisy-but he is really loyal which is somewhat respectable...
I like your drawings of them. Gatsby's kinda hot in this... just saying. XD

Haha, yeah, that is very true. Gatsby probably built Daisy up way more in his imagination. I found the ending of the story so frustrating because it was all Daisy's fault and she didn't have any consequences. :c
