Description omg, can it be?! It is! A TRADITIONAL MEDIA PIECE!! Crazy. This was made with scratchboard in my cartooning class. Scratch board is a peice of black card that you scratch the black off of (using pointy scratchboard tools) to reveal white underneath-- to put it plainly. So yah, last time I did scratchboard I tried a lot of crosshatching for gradient shading. This year, though, I decided to stick with solid shading. So I went with a high-contrast pic I whipped up of--go figure-- Jak. Then I made a contrasty rubber stamp with Daxter But that's not being submitted So yah, enjoy!

PS. I signed my name in Photoshop. Just to go ahead and put that out there.

Wow. For a piece of scratchboard paper, you've gotten the white parts amazingly clean!
Looks excellent, by the way : D Great contrasts, and his goggle shading is so gorgeous.

Ahh, that makes sense : o I was wondering if you used a different little penny/knife thing that was wider to scratch off some parts at first.

Ya, you should be able to buy it at your local art store, but I'm not sure either...

*looks around*

Could that get any BIGGER? Jesus, woman.
Anyway, it's pretty awesome. I'd like to try scratch board sometime, but GOD would I suck at it. XD

dizzyclown In reply to HaganeEdward [2006-05-26 03:04:53 +0000 UTC]

no, it can definitely get smaller though My num lock was off so it didn't resize to 25% =\ I pretty much fixed it like 20 seconds after I submitted the big one, though, so you are just too early! GOSH XD

masdos In reply to ??? [2006-05-26 01:53:14 +0000 UTC]

Envious of your use of shadows... and on scratchboard! My first thought was that you used a Sharpie, and with all the black space, I was just wondering how many marker fumes were inhaled. ;D

VERY nice.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dizzyclown In reply to masdos [2006-05-26 03:07:22 +0000 UTC]

hehe, thanks very much ^_^ Yah, that would be a lot of sharpie O_o... I think that if I were to use sharpie, though, to save braincells I would probably use black for all the white bits and then just use the "invert" option in photoshop.. ;
