I must commend you for your smooth and effortless looking shading on this piece. The shadows are not over worked, and blend seamlessly together. You did not make the mistake of over working the shading, but gave the figure slight, yet effective, shading. I also feel that you offset the very realistic shading with the darker, and somewhat exaggerated, outlines in some parts of the drawing(which echo to your digital work). The subject matter is "humorous", and it is apparent that rendering non-traditional facial expressions does not hinder you at all.
I only feel that maybe the hat is just a little flat. Maybe it could use just a bit more highlighting, or maybe when photographed the image lost clarity...
Over all, wonderful work!

This is great. It's the first picture that comes up in a search for "humor"

Love everything about it besides the outlining. The shading is spot on, however the dark outline really flattens it and takes away from the 3D look accomplished with the shading. Overall very impressive! Beautiful use of contrast.

THIS is what severely lacking in Deviantart:
humor.
People in this site needs to get a sense of humor. Just chill out, relax and have fun.
What's the point? There's no "point". It's just a joke. Humor shouldn't have a "point" other than making you laugh.
It's not accurate to the book? Who cares? As long as it's funny, it shouldn't matter what Suzanne Collins did or didn't say.
The point is: you need to learn to just chill out and laugh. Learn to have fun, to just laugh at a silly joke. If you go around being a humorless grouch, you won't get much enjoyment out of life.

yeah, but unfortunately people seem to only laugh at another's expense- especially on the internet- this is just cute and fun, need more REAL humor, anything that hurts someone has no comical value to me.
There are a lot of cruel pics online that are "funny" to people. I'll stick with penciled eyebrows

Haha, thanks :] Glad you like it.
Had to look up who Suzanne Collins was Turns out I've been hearing a lot about her book lately, though. I was thinking of reading it, but I guess not if its going to take my sense of humor away!

Actually, it's a complaint about lorellashray. She takes the "Hunger Games" books WAY too seriously. I tried to make some "Hunger Games" related jokes in her "Hunger Games character sheet" drawing, and she gave me Hell for it, making me feel like shit. So, while reading the book will do nothing to your sense of humor, trying to make "Hunger Games" jokes in front of lorellashray WILL take your sense of humor away.
So, my advice: stay away from lorellashray.

Very nice on many levels. Thanks for executing this in traditional medium. I see this in shop featuring independent designers. Many thanks for sharing.

I love the wit in this piece, the title really does it justice. Aside from that I rather enjoy the textures & fluidity of the piece. Kudos! ^-^

this is wild, how did you get your outline to start off with? Did you check it with a compass or anything?

Hehe, nice. You're drawing yourself! So, this is a class project? What does it entail? How many themes do you have to do?
