Description
Progress on a Forgotten Realms Piece that I'll pick up again once my White Wolf work is complete. The Drow elf here isnt supposed to be the infamous Drizzt Do'Urden, but i guess you cant have a dual-wielding drow without making that connection. *shrug*

Honestly, I did think 'Hey, did I miss something? Did Drizzt gain an appreciation for straight blades and heavy armor?' My mistake, and apology; figures that one talented author can wreck an archetype for everyone else.
It IS a lovely piece, regardless.

I'll openly say I didn't for a moment think this was Drizzt when I saw it. Apart from not having scimitars this character doesn't really fit the look of Drizzt apart from being a male drow (a good thing IMO, Drizzt is overdone). I love how dynamic the pose is and the detail on the armor is very cool (the armor, btw, is the main reason why I didn't see this as Drizzt). Incredible work.

Its hard for people not to think Drizzt. I love Salvatore's stuff too (proud to say I own all his drizzt-related books).
I do remember tho that in his Entreri/Jarlaxle series (Sellswords trilogy?-can't remember) entreri made sure the reader knew that the Drow race are especially good dual wielders.
Wicked piece, and the passion v. cool motif came out well in the colors.

Ha ha, sorry I thought Drizzt when I first looked at it. I mean, you dont hear about too many others do you? that dont die right away at least. There is Jarlaxle, but you cant confuse those two. I love your work here though. The bight colors are a bit out of place ont eh poor victim here but I like how it makes a clash of sorts between dark and light colors. The drows pose and countenance are fantastic, good work.

I was going for a light/dark theme here, with the barbarian symbolizing fire and passion and rage, and the drow symbolizing cool, calm, darkness.
I love Salvatore's characters, they are well written, diverse, and brilliant, but it's a whole race of people! >_<

Yea. The stories involving Jarlaxle's push into the surface world were fun to read. I love the expertise the drow army displays. Its unfortunate that not too many stand out on their own.
