There are more to suits than I realized. I feel bad for business men/women who have to deal with suits a lot, haha.

Haha well, Tailors will usually do all this for them, but tailors these days don't really both this much. I see like spokesmen or news anchors on tv, and even their wardrobe people don't always get it right.

O.o That must bother you, seeing someone not wearing something properly.
How do you know so much about suits?

XDDDDDDD! This tutorial's going to be so helpful for me. Thanks so much for making it.
Question, would this also apply to lab coats?

DJCoulz In reply to Dragonnerd445 [2011-06-23 07:54:19 +0000 UTC]
First, I'm glad I could help.
Second, I think technically lab coats are uniform depending on size, BUT if you want your character to look even better in a lab coat you can still apply these rules to make them look nicer. It may not be the most 100% accurate lab coat on the planet, but if it accentuates their features, no ones gunna correct you on the lab coat. Atleast as far as the lapel and shoulders go, the height you should keep uniform with the actual length of a lab coat. XD

And all the rest of your stuff in your gallery, seriously I was gonna go to bed an hour or two ago and I spent that time looking through your stuff, LOVE IT

XD That really is very awesome to hear, I often times find really great artists and spend like half a day looking through their stuff, and it's really cool to hear that some people do that with my art.
Thanks for not only for looking through my art, but telling me as well, it's always cool to hear!~

You're very welcome! You're an amazing artist and I'm very jealous at how well you draw (and color and shade) guys, I know practice makes perfect but I still wish I had that kind of talent.

Yeah, I always hated hearing "practice, practice, practice" but truthfully, that's the only way to get here. And I still keep doing it! XD

Suits are my favorite thing to put on characters, but I feel like I can't draw them very accurately. This helps me out alot, thanks!

Great tutorial! I tend to add clothing to characters as an afterthought, and it probably detracts from my art. I'll pay a little more attention to their clothing from now on!

DJCoulz In reply to extremepacman [2011-06-17 09:06:11 +0000 UTC]
You know what they say, the clothes make the man! Going from the step of drawing clothing as an after thought to clothing as a part of the picture is a key step in becoming a better artist I believe!

Not only have I learnt how to draw a proper well-fitting suit, but I also feel prepared to take my brothers suit shopping. A wonderfully informative piece of guidance! :>

Well that's what I was hoping for. Really these are tips that tailors these days fall short at, it's always good to have a sense of style, color, and some bit of fashion. It's like the one art form seen EVERYWHERE.
Plus if your gunna spend the money on the suit, you want it to be the best one for you. 8P
