I'm glad you like it but there really aren't that many variations on the Delicate Arch shot.

I think most of the WOW factor is from the HDR but I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the favorite.

I haven't used that technique yet, but I may have to try it.

Really awesome landscape.
The HDR effect comes good to the point of view!

Thanks but I have to give most of the credit to the arch. I liked the way the HDR brought out some the color in the shaded side and added the contrast to the sky and clouds.

think I like this shot better without the HDR.

I agree that you really can't beat the all natural Mother Nature color but we still have tp play around with her.

You are missing my point, HDR remove the dept feel of the shot. HDR makes it feel flat.

With view like this, the dept is one of the major thing making the shot beautiful.

I don't know? You have the arch in the foreground, overlapping a ridgeline in the background. I guess it's a matter of perception.

Such an amazing place. Of course I've only ever seen it snow capped, but even then it was something really special. The HDR does allow more detail in the shadow, right? I often don't like it much but here it's really helping.

djohn9 In reply to TomasClark [2010-12-02 23:25:09 +0000 UTC]

It doesn't work very well with deep shadow like a canyon wall but for this it brought out more of the red as well the contrast in the sky and clouds. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Indeed it is. You like the bright dynamic colors in your gallery so I'm sure you'd enjoy the area.

Great picture and angle that encapsulates the variety of that area, and not over emphasised by HDR as often happens. ... Alex

Thanks Alex. I was trying for a little more pizaz in the color so I could submit to the HDR group.
