This is breath-taking! I'm drawn into the photo from the large rocks that I've sure you strategically captured in the front corner to "Zeus and Moses" standing proudly and majestically in the background. Love it! I must see lay my own eyes on this one day soon!

I did compose it with the boulders for the foreground. It's really an impressive sight, as is the entire hike down there.

Dramatic composition. How long was the hike to get to this place? Is this an HDR photo?

It is an HDR, with Photomatix. It was 11.8 miles round trip with a good climb out of the canyon to finish it off. I think I'll do it as a backpack trip next year and continue on down the canyon to Spanish Bottom on the Green River.

When you get that first glimpse from around a corner in the wash it's almost like that first view of Delicate Arch. You do go Wow! I still need to get up the SLC area but if you're ever planning a trip down to the Canyonlands area let me know.

Will do. Hoping to get down south later in the fall before it gets really cold.

Uuuuhhh! This is about the time of year that Loveland Pass/Eisenhower Tunnel get to be real messy but let me know anyway. I'm heading down to Big Bend and the gulf coast of Texas next week. I've never been down there before and it should be cooling of a little.

this is one of those places you spoke of sitting and soaking it up I suspect.

I love the balance your composition gives... and the bucket list grows.

Not another soul on the trail the entire day. That was nice. I had a nice shady bank in the wash just below the formation to soak it in and get some energy for the return trip.
