Description
I decided to head up north to Granite Mountain, Arizona to watch this year's Perseid meteor shower. I turned around to look at the central bulge of the galaxy and HAD to take a photo.Single exposure: 30.0", ISO1600, f/2.8
Edited in Lightroom 4.1

think this is my favorite of your sky shots! It's like you took this from a different planet

Haha. Well, Arizona IS essentially a different planet.
It's also my favorite. I have a couple more from that night, but they didn't turn out as well.

Long exposure and then upped the brightness in post-. High contrasts FTW!

Thank you. It's my first legitimate attempt (everything I had before this was just rudimentary editing) at astrophotography. I was quite pleased.

Haha. Thank you. I followed that tutorial you sent me a while back and it seems to have worked pretty well. My only complaint is that with a single exposure, the noise is ridiculous. I hope to one day get one that is just absolutely stunning. Then I can call it quits and move on to a different hobby.
