Description I had a lot of fun making this piece. Samus, to this day, remains one of my all time favorite videogame characters, ignoring her Other M incarnation of course.Β

That suit design.... Dayum!
If a sort-like design comes in Metroid Prime 4.... I would be using that all the time.

Very interesting interpretation of her armor! And the tentacle on the Metroid makes me think of the Hunter Metroids from Prime, which had a tentacle as well. I like it!

That's where I got the tentacle from! I'm a huge Metroid Prime Fan, best game in the series imo lol

Love Metroid Prime! Though my favorite is actually Echoes.
Some of that comes from nostalgia (it was my first Metroid game), but I still love the atmosphere and soundtrack, and the fact that it did something different, since Prime was more traditional (nothing wrong with that at all, just an observation).

My first Metroid game was Fusion, I played Echoes in 4th or 5th position and I still think it's the best game. Gameplay is very close to the first PrimeΒ  with very good addition like Screw Attack but the story is far more complete and interesting (Luminoths <3).

Just to say, it's not because you played it first or nostalgia, it's just because it's a very good game that, for me, fits perfectly on Samus' character and what should be the general atmosphere in the series (horror, insecurity, ancient worlds...)

By the way, it's the only entry in the series (except spin offs like Hunters or FF) you do not fight Ridley ! (I strongly believe the Nintendo reboot of Metroid 2 will feature at least some space pirates to explain how the fuck Pirates know so much on Metroids in Primes because I doubt they just went to SR388/Zebes and defeated hundreds of Chozo Knights).. too much talk x)

Varia31 In reply to DalgaFR [2017-08-18 22:33:43 +0000 UTC]

Definitely agree! And yeah, once again, no Ridley was neat. I liked that Echoes did something different.

Well, the Pirates have plenty of Metroids in the Primes because of cloning and such, and because there were still plenty of Metroids to transport from Zebes, and since Prime takes place between Metroid 1 and 2, it makes sense they they still have a decent supply of them. Not to mention the ones that are spawned on Tallon IV. I also think the Chozo long vacated SR388 before Metroids were even there. Reason being the presence of the X Parasites. The Chozo specifically created the first Metroids for the purpose of preying on the X so that they didn't get out of control. So if the Pirates got Metroids from SR388, they would not have encountered any Chozo.

I'm quite fond of Echoes as well~ Prime was my third Metroid game, though. I played Fusion and Zero Mission before having the chance to play Prime~

Ahh, I see! Echoes and a bit of Super were my first experiences. I was introduced to Samus through Smash Bros. 64! I'm grateful to that game, because now I'm a Metroid fan till the end!

So long as you denounce Other M for the garbage fire that it is, we'll get along just fine

Story = bad
Gameplay = decent
That sums up my opinion. I'd much rather play every other game. I legit liked Federation Force better. Aside from the chibi style and the timing of its release (mostly because of it being released by itself),Β  it's actually a decent little game.
But yeah, I'm way excited for Samus Returns and Prime 4 above all else!

DalgaFR In reply to Varia31 [2017-08-18 09:02:07 +0000 UTC]

I hate gameplay even more than the story. WTF a Metroid game without exploring capacities nor decent aiming system...

Yeah FF bad timing :/

I thought the 3rd Person gameplay was alright for the most part, I just wish it wasn't done with a D-Pad. By gameplay I mean how Samus controls, not the lack of exploration. 1st Person mode was bad, though

DKDevil In reply to Varia31 [2017-08-15 08:56:13 +0000 UTC]

I haven't had the chance to play federation force. From what I've seen it looks like an okay game that shouldn't have been branded as a metroid game.

I'm curious about Samus Returns (minus some amiibo bullshit) And cautiously optimistic about Prime 4. I'm pretty much waiting to hear how prime 4 turns out before buying a switch.

Varia31 In reply to DKDevil [2017-08-15 19:40:46 +0000 UTC]

Well it's still set in the universe as a spin-off, so it's fine I think that it has the name. And Samus is in the game, contrary to what people will say. She just isn't playable of course.

I think people are overreacting regarding the Amiibo. I mean, you had to have Metroid Prime, Metroid Fusion, a GBA, a GameCube, and an adapter cable just to get the Fusion Suit in Prime. Contrast this to the new game, where all you need is a New 3DS, the game, and one Metroid Amiibo. Nintendo also cleared up that the Metroid Amiibo doesn't unlock hard mode, just a second, harder hard mode that features the Fusion Suit. Besides, now they're actually making the Amiibo useful. Of course, it isn't a huge deal to me anyways because I already have them preordered. So I can understand the frustration for those who can't get the Amiibo or don't want them. As for Prime 4, the only thing that concerns me is that Retro isn't doing it, but I'm optimistic.

DKDevil In reply to Varia31 [2017-08-15 19:45:59 +0000 UTC]

The point with Federation force is that it was not initially a metroid game, it got rebranded by nintendo.Β

As For the Amiibo, I still can't see it as anything other than physical DLC. Overpriced and in the case of some amiibos, incredibly hard to even find.Β

Honestly, Retro as it exists today is not the same Retro we had when Metroid Prime was developed. The vast majority of the Staff involved in the Prime trilogy has moved on to other companies. I just hope whoever nintendo has onboard for Prime 4 know what they're doing and have a genuine love for Metroid. Like I said, cautiously optimistic

Varia31 In reply to DKDevil [2017-08-15 20:04:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh, yes. I see what you're saying. The initial prototypes and all that were not. Gotcha. lol

I actually just got those preordered yesterday went they went up on Best Buy. They went down again no more than an hour. XD

Yeah, a lot of the original team started to take off around when Prime 3 was coming out. I have faith in Nintendo since it may be an in-house team this time, although Tanabe just says it's "a talented new development team." So that REALLY narrows it down.
