Ziyi Zhang - Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Drawn from a very small reference image! It's a still from the film, which I repurposed as a portrait of the actress. That scene where she's losing the fight of her life, drenched in water and outmatched to boot, but still defiant of spirit. I love the image and wanted to draw something striking for my first proper foray back into charcoal portraits.

Four to five hours in charcoal, white comte pencil, and 2B graphite pencil, on coloured charcoal paper.
