Description
This time around I mixed it up a bit with a touch of everything for the coloring process. I used watercolors, color pencils, markers, and acrylic inks. I hate this card stock but decided to try to push the envelope on a paper I hate. Came out alright, just the stock...is...so...thin and refuses to take a watercolor layering. >_<(Like I had mentioned in earlier pieces, Blueline Pro Sketch Card stock is horrible. Way too thin, not centered, not always 2.5"x3.5", and is way overpriced the crappy quality you get.)
2.5"x3.5"

Yes, thats how they got me as well. It was the first stock I bought...and I ordered 250 or 400, I forget....so, I do have a lot of them lying around. Anyways, if you use markers and inks (felt tips of course) the paper is great, even though it's cheap crap thin. Well either way, I imagined if I was five and back drawing on the ground with a stick...I'll take any paper any day! Make the best of it I suppose, good luck with your stock man.

It's a very enjoyable process, it's not that slow going, the only thing that makes it slow is the fact I go over every layer/color like 3 times. Then go back after everything is set to add shadow, highlights, and the little knickknacks (such as the splatter and minor light reflections).
Either way, a steady hand isn't really required. Just a quick motion will usually guarantee your strokes will be straight.

I wouldn't consider doing it enjoyable, but looking at it sure is!

Pfft, its both. The joy of finishing something that kicked ones ass is always a wonderful feeling. Especially when you know if you had to do it all over again, you'd do it even better. That of course would mean a new piece, that one would even push the limits even more.

True. The Three Stooges painting I did sure kicked my ass, painting in greyscale is a real pain! But if I had to do it all over again.... I wouldn't do it! My brain still hurts from it, and that was 8 years ago!
I think I pushed my limits to their limits on that one!

Well its always good to have those experiences to look back on. They make us all into better artists and better people. Nothing better than a learning and growing experience I say. Beats getting into something crazy like a car crash, a broken heart, or and accident.
