Update: Okay, so I finally bent GarageBand to my will.Listen to "Little One (The Lullaby) "
This is a rather long comic. I don't think I had ones this tall.
I love to explore the relationship between Shining Armor and Twilight. The two are best buds whom I wished got more screentime together. I would guess Shining Armor loves his sister very much, like Twilight does, but he just doesn't show it as he would like to. Perhaps he holds regret that the two of them haven't seen each other much before his wedding, or even after.
I penned the script for this comic a long while back, but only got down to doing it recently. I had to stop working on it halfway because it hurt me bad. I hope you guys enjoy it.

This was 5 kinds of adorable. And the song works well, too. I like how you're fleshing out the relationship between Shining, Cadance, and Twilight. Very cool.

Y'know, I think you actually have a better handle on how Twilight, Cadence and Shining Armor interact than the show staff do. It's pretty obvious they haven't had a clear idea of where to take Shining armor to in particular, or the kinds of things that can be done to get him into the story and show him in the role of Twilight's brother. Your work is much better focused, feels right for all the characters involved, and gives some depth to the otherwise-flat Shining Armor.

To be fair, the show itself has barely had any screen time for Shining Armor since being in the Crystal Empire keeps him removed from the main setting most of the time. But I do hope we see more of him in the future.

We're seen Shiny in, of course, "A Canterlot Wedding", "Games Ponies Play", "Equestria Games" and "Twilight's Kingdom". For all those appearances, in my opinion he's considerably less developed than other characters with less screen time. Compare Shiny's depth of character shown (or lack thereof) to Spitfire, Cheerilee, and Big Macintosh. For that matter, consider Cadance too. What we've seen so far is pretty much a single note, and there's been no character development beyond what we've first seen him at (other than "he coaches too").
I'd like to see some actual personality development and backstory for Shiny. We see that in the comics, of course (Shiny the Dork King!), but otherwise it's been pretty much left to fan material.
Between the work that DM29 has done and Socerushorserus' "Twilight's First Day", this is the most satisfying fan material to date, and given how little we have that is from the show itself, fan material like this carries greater weight.

Truly lovely. I also wish their relationship was explored more. He kind of came out of nowhere when he first appeared, but I'd love to know the role he played in Twilight's early life.
