I'm gonna assume those are magic books, because having two Sun and Moon books conspicuously placed on a slide-away shelf is a terrible security measure for a Restricted Section.No Bases. Please do not modify my work in any way.

My headcanon is that, since Celestia grabbed her book and Luna grabbed hers, they would only respond like that to the princess's magic; any other pony that tried to grab them would be able to pull them down like any other book. So this situation wouldn't be possible
