I was very happy to shake this Veteran's hand. He looked very happy..but kinda lonely. But still he let me to take some photos of him. I bow before men and women who fought in WWII and other wars to maintain peace in the world by sacrificing their lives...Related content

My grandfather is a veteran of the great Patriotic war i would reallly love it if Western and Soviet Veterans could meet up. I have great respect for theseΒ men who saved the free world from Fasicim URA

This Captain definitely served his country to the max!

I've been lucky enough to meet twelve of our (czech) veteran pilots few years ago...one has to wonder how must it feel, to risk your life for the hope of tomorrow and then see how our Republic actually works...
I will always admire those people. True heroes. I find it mostly unkind that only a very few of us, young generations, ever felt thankful to them or even recognized them. Most of us simply doesn't care...

yeah, well there are always two sides of a coin, in hungary the red army slaughtered and raped its way through, not to mention taking thousands of civilians as POWs to syberia in order to justify their lies of greater enemy numbers, to us it is a horrible insult to say "we were freed by them", just saying to add a little contrast...

okay )) and germans? were they amazing hosts to your country? no raping , no slaughter , they just said - oh , hi we are just passing by )) these are people who fought for freedom , the ones who did everything else were politicians . a contrast you say? it is a horrible insult to the veterans to say this kind of things .

Its sad that some people dont care for sacrifice of soviet people or people in ex yugoslavia just becouse their states were cummunistic..ofc hes happy,he has good reason to be happy he maniged to be part of saving his dear country
