Description This is part of another set of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic-based Pokemon cards.

The mysterious DJ P0N-3 aka Vinyl Scratch joins the set at #5. I decided to make her Water-type because I was extremely lacking in Water-types. Still am, actually...

edit: With the name "Vinyl Scratch" becoming canon, I've updated her name. I won't bother rearranging the cards.

I didn't do any of the art or backgrounds. All copyrights and trademarks found are owned by their respective copyright and trademark holders. No infringement of copyright is intended.

I think Pegasi should be moreso water, since they control the weather.

Uh..I think she should be electric type because her music is electric techno. Not water, because her music doesn't relate to water.

Well, it's not like any of these types I choose for MLP stuff mean anything. I already explained why her card is Water.

But I'll keep it in mind; the next Vinyl Scratch card I make will be Lightning. :]

Remix deals 30 damage plus the last attack's damage done to her. Before or after applying Weakness and Resistance?

The last attack's damage is whatever the final damage was after Weakness and Resistance was applied when your opponent attacked. If she got hit by a Fire move that has 20 base damage, weakness boosts it to 40 damage and so on your turn, the last attack's damage was 40. Remix would do 70 damage total in this instance.

So, to answer your question, it's after, but only by virtue of the fact that both of them are applied before you even know what the final damage is.

Remix is a clever name for the attack!

Where did you find this information? Can you show me? If you show me proof that that's really her name and not just a fan name, I'll gladly change the card.

The Name DJ P0n-3 is fan made. It was made due to her talent. And was only mentioned as DJ P0n-3 in the "Equestria Girls" ad. This was after she had already been given the title DJ P0n-3 by the fans for her appearance in "Suited For Success" in which she was a DJ at Rarity's Fashion Show.

I'm aware of the origins of the name. I'm asking for you to show me proof--whether from someone involved with the show or from a line in the show itself--that Vinyl Scratch is her actual name and not just a fan name.

Since the "Equestria Girls" ad is an official advertisement, and they used DJ P0N-3, so did I. Like I said, I will happily change it to Vinyl Scratch (I like that better, honestly) if you can show me canonical proof that that's actually her name.

As an aside, this is why I avoided using background ponies in the first set - many of them don't have names and I wanted to stick with purely legitimate stuff (Derpy the exception, I'm aware that that isn't canon (yet???) so don't mention her). I could easily include Lyra, Bon Bon, Aloe, and friends in set three (I might still because as of now it's made up solely of the mane six again), but I just wish they actually had names.

Who knows? Maybe season two will canonize them for us.

^_^ Sorry I meant to put in my last comment that that was all I could find. I was trying to say you were correct. XP I got rushed by some one to get offline and I didn't have the time. I say go ahead and make them. Better to have to rename them later. I like your artwork. so don't think that I'm just a random flamer. I understand your logic and reasoning and I'm submitting to what you say. I too hope they include the background ponies. I mean if you go to the trouble of drawing them out as specifically different characters why not give them names? Even if they do only appear helter skelter throughout the series.

So, no Vinyl then?

Vinyl is as much fanon as DJ-PON3. Infact, a while back people voted on her name. No one working on the team behide MLP made the name. Vinyl Scratch is DJ's real name.

Following on from that, what about DJ W1SH? Or Neon Lights? Or doesn't he have a name? Not picking a fight here, but you should just follow the fandom instead of push it the other way.

i'm just amused by the fact the character is only mentioned or thought of so often is cause of the fans, therefore the fans named her themselves just as they did with derpy. a poll was made somewhere (i think EqD) on what her name was, top 2 votes were these: DJ P0n-3,
Scratch. scratch was made her name and DJ P0n-3 her stage name. her name ws then lengthened to Vinyl Scratch by mass majority. least i prefer vinyl scratch and apparently all the fan fics including her.

Magic Melody? Is that a reference to Harvest Moon? XD

Nope. "Magic" cause unicorn, "Melody" cause, y'know, DJ. Also has that alliteration thing going which is cool too.

This would be a pretty powerful card to have in your deck. If the opponent does more than 40 damage, Remix will return with a much harder attack whereas Magic Melody would be a standard powerful attack. Party Soft with luck would help in preparing to get to those attacks.

Yep. With Pinkie basically harmless and Cheerilee literally harmless, I wanted a powerful Water-type. DJ P0N-3 was it. :]

ToastersToastToast [2011-07-07 01:49:17 +0000 UTC]

A Water-type that's weak to Fire? Odd.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dmon2 In reply to ToastersToastToast [2011-07-07 16:10:55 +0000 UTC]

It's only odd because Water-type Pokemon aren't weak to Fire. DJ P0N-3 has no elemental affinity (that we know of - she is a unicorn, after all), and she's Water only because I'm lacking in Water-type cards (there is only one more Water-type in the set).

When you remember that DJ P0N-3 could just as easily have been Grass (or Lightning, or Dark, or Fire for a double dose of wtf), the fact that she has a Fire Weakness can be easily overlooked.

ToastersToastToast In reply to dmon2 [2011-07-08 03:06:46 +0000 UTC]

True, true. Any specific reason she's weak to Fire, though?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dmon2 In reply to ToastersToastToast [2011-07-08 13:25:33 +0000 UTC]

The best answer I can give to that is "maybe". Usually when I do Weakness and Resistance I think not of their Pokemon card type equivalents, but pony relationships. Using Applejack from the first set as an example, she's weak to Lightning basically only because Rainbow Dash is. She resists Steel because of Rarity (notice that Rarity resists Fighting).

This isn't universal; Fluttershy, for example, isn't weak to Fire because Twilight Sparkle/Spike are her worst enemies, it really is because Fluttershy is in tune with nature and, well, she would be completely owned by a fire.

In DJ P0N-3's case, I can't remember why I gave her a Fire Weakness. I think it might have just been to weird people out, lol.
