Is it a male or female? Please I NEED to know this for a project at school. A famous author is coming to my school and were going to write a book and publish it. So I don't want to mess up on it cause it will be published and people will see it and laugh.

it's a male valley quail. the females dont have as much color and the have a little different plume on their head.

wow.. i've never seen a quail in it's natural habitat.. i guess they don't live in bc, or i just don't get out too often.

yeah, they are a common occurance now in the northwest. they visit our backyard all the time. pretty cool stuff.
