Description Anti-art school, here in Phoenix, has burlesque girls do life-drawing sessions... went for the first time 2nite, enjoyed the hell outta it... [link]
Here's the first five-minsute sketches: [link]
Then I did the above, which was 3 20-minute sessions of one pose. Pretty happy with where I was sitting, so I worked at it, came up with this. Felt really good to flex those sketch muscles with a live model - I miss life-drawing, and hope to go to this again. I think its really funny the way my foreshortning turns out when I'm working from a live model across thr oom sometimes... Imean she was a big girl in an attractive way, but this is an interesting perspective nonetheless.

Its a great exercise, creatively.... I wouldn't want to do it ALL the time like I did in college, but yeah, more would be nice

yes, definitely, not all the time... gets a little tiring.
but it certainly feels good to do now and then.

i'm gonna call up the sapporo citizen's center (i feel like such a commie when i say that) and see what the deelio is on life drawing classes there... i'm sure they must have something...

thanx for reminding me!

I like the shading on her waist--you got that narrowing of her hips down just right, I think. And that outfit is just great! She looks comfortably uncomfortable...

Thanks... I really enjoyed working the piece. I'm especially happy with my fearlessness of texture, especially the frills on her panties

Life-drawing is great. I miss it. Photos just aren't the same. Nice work on this sketch. The rollerskates and angle make it interesting.

Yes, Forshortening! I always get piss poor results if I work from my imagination, even if from photo refence. There's just something about a live model that brings out the forshortening.....and all this time I've been making an idiot of myself saying "foreshadowing"....as if something's bound to happen next when you're in the room with a naked woman.....I can only wish that something would happen.
Well actually something did happen once....too bad it didn't happen to me.

I miss life drawing too. What with all the time being spent on chasing some silly corporate objective.

Heh... well-said. I think a lot of us can relate... thankfully, this was a Sunday night, so I made time
