Description past the fences

as the lights dimmed and the night came
she waded waist deep
in the cool water of the river,
it was like everything went into slow motion

no one suspected Sunday morning
during breakfast at Saul's
that the bleach blond little old lady
sitting in the corner booth
with blue gloves and red lipstick
shaking to the beat of her running nylons
like a bat out of hell
was really J. Edgar Hoover in drag,
Machine Gun Kelly and John Dillinger
would just roll over and die, again

stun the fortress
run the dogs
past the fences
into the shrouded fog

she passed out cold
under the bridge
as the fisherman laughed
from their boat,
lit in starlight and flares

the perfect job for an almost unemployable person

two bits used to get you a newspaper

Oh, that is awesome, ever visited here?

Yes I have, i'll absolutely send it to you (:
It's a nice feeling, placing youself into someone elses photo like this, it's almost like i'm there, at least my soul!

No worries, In am pleased you did and asking is just frosting to the cake.
You did a nice job, looks like you are in the photo, no doubts.
So i am pleased. I dig stuff like that.
And yes, ss you say, "It's a nice feeling, placing yourself into someone elses
photo like this, it's almost like i'm there, at least my soul!"
so true, well someday you will have to venture west, you would like the
SF Bay Area.

Besides Stolkholm I was in Landskrona where my grandmother Clara was born
and Sudsvall where my grandfather Frank (Frans) was born. Had to see where
i came from.
Both separately when they were young and with their families moved and settles on
seperate farms maybe 3 miles away from each other in the Dakotas, where they met
and fell in love.
My father was actually born in a Swedish settlement along the Missouri River
in a place called Painted Woods, i always liked that as i became a painter.
So a cool Skandi tale for me, born out here in the west. All the old timer Skandi's
in my family had quite the life, my grandfather basically became a more modern
day cowboy, one reason my father ended up moving out to Southern California.

So the Polaroid has that tale behind it. Why i called it Metropolis. If you need
anymore backgrounds feel free to look around.

Thank you, i'm glad you like it!
Yes I would love to visit sometime^^

Oh that's cool, that your grandparents were swedes!
"Painted woods" sounds nice, like something from a dream.

I do, made me think of those pieces more.
If u ever see another, feel free to use.

Yes, i grew up visiting North Dakota, where many Swedes ended up once
they left home. So i knew a lot when i was a kid and growing up.
My grandmother was an incredible gal, still had the Swedish accent.

Yes, i always loved that he was born in a place like Painted Woods, and when
i would visit i would imagine all the Indian stories that i heard from there.
The Indians in the day would paint the tree trunks for ceremonies along
the Missouri River. Now it is mostly farmland. But quite beautiful in the Spring
and Fall.
But yes, a dream in many ways, just the name.

Thank you so much!

Oh, that's really cool. How old was she when she moved from Sweden?

Wow, it sounds so surreal, the painted woods. I'd loved to see it.
I've actually thought many times about going out in the woods and paint the trees!
Some day maybe. I love trees.

Clara was a young girl, maybe 7. She was the youngest of 6.

The real great forests are out here in the west. The Redwoods are just awesome.
Check these babies out.

www.google.com/search?q=redwoo…

My father was born along the Missouri River. And i agree i always thought the name Painted Woods was surreal, and as I ended up being a painter, a coincidence.

You should, i would think painting in the forest would be cool.
To be one with the tall trees. Trees are beautiful and so important.
Bet you will venture into the forest sometime.

hope all be well.

I would love to see that for real, looks increadible! I love trees so much.
When I die i want my ashes to be spread in the forrest...

Are you having a nice summer?

DocSonian In reply to SaraEss [2014-08-01 04:50:53 +0000 UTC]

I know what you mean. I come and go.
Yes these beauties are tremendous, some of the biggest trees in the world,
like nature's skyscrapers, towers beyond the light of the sky blue.

That's an interesting way to go, and not a bad thought at all, among the forests
where we all came from.

summer is going well, busy with painting and writing and maybe u saw posted here
a music show, Doc Sonian's Sonic Soup, well if u like music, maybe it might interest
you. The rest is life and we all deal with that. good times no times boring times.
How are you and the days be traveling well on you?

The trees are gorgeous. You must see someday. Mammoth living beasts.

I put together a show for a Portland online radio station,Β  all music, new and some old, check it out
most recent show #8
qpr.loathemegacorp.com/doc-son…

and an archive of past 7 shows
qpr.loathemegacorp.com/categor…

Inspiration come and goes, but sometimes we have to stand
there and seek it, force it, open up to it. It is there.

all sounds good there and hope the last days of August as they creep into
Fall treat you well and find you smiling.

A Skandi band i recently found that i like is First Aid Kit.
Two sisters that sing pretty nice and write good songs
here is one i like...maybe you will, or maybe not your cup of tea..you tell me

be well across the silver linings

just reading your comments
and struck how you all seem to find it weird or strange when there is an absence of people from your familiar landscape
for me no humans and trees growing back where buildings would be an ideal

humans have their value but they are not all there is in the world or at least they should'nt be

you art and verse are good

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DocSonian In reply to WYLD-BLOOD [2011-07-31 21:35:52 +0000 UTC]

no strange feelings on that.
It is done with that in mind, as
I prefer to shoot photos with no people in them
or just a hint of them....like shadowy figures in the far ground

living in the city it is hard to avoid
so when i can shoot a building with no one around it
works for me better

yes, office building mostly in this shot and the church on the left.
It is strange how quiet downtown gets on Sunday.
It's almost a ghost town.
