Description
I finally did a sketch for the water type starter for my Fakémon region, based on salamanders, specifically the common mudpuppy and sirens.

Eventually, this Pokémon gains alligator and each-uisge inspiration. What ties all of these together? Well sirens (the salamander) shares its name with the mythological creature. Another creature known for luring victims to their doom is the Each-Uisge, the Scottish water horse similar to the Kelpie but known to be far more viscious. As for the alligator connection, Koolasuchus was a temnospondyl amphibian in the Cretaceous period which looked like a massive salamander. Suchus means crocodile and Koolasuchus was an ambush predator similar to modern day crocodilians.
