Well I'm not a 'Hind' expert but from what I understand the Mi-35 is just another name for the Mi24V - and I don't remember this one being a Mi24V. I'm pretty sure the Mi35 has a 4 barrelled 12.7mm rotary gun. This one is actually a Hind E retrofitted with a 20mm twin-feed single-barelled gun of South African origin. If you want to see a really nice help see if you can look top the 'Agile SuperHind' from the same company that did this conversion. It has 1000kg less weight (Removal of APU, retractable landing gear and stub wings. External stores mounted on pylons instead. New wiring and avionics. Composite rotors).

Thanks. It's an old pic that I took when we shooting the movie 'Blood Diamond' back in 2006. I was firing a machine gun out of it and the guy flying it was the chief test pilot of ATE who owned it. It was actually a demonstrator for their 20mm gun system and the machine itself was a little tired. It actually had an engine failure at one point - fortunately on the ground! I'd always wanted to fly in a Hind though and managed several flights. Needless to say I enjoyed every minute of it!

One of the very few of all the ones I've worked on that I actually like as a movie - but the Hind was the highlight!
