In the beginning of the game, Maleko stuck mostly with Sterling (SHSL Makeup Artist), who convinced him he would protect him. During the blank period, before any murders, everyone’s instinct was to basically ignore the implications of the game, and essentially act like nothing was happening. After the first murder, Maleko entered into something of a relationship with Sterling, but was taken advantage of, so Maleko’s roommate, Ashton (SHSL Snowboarder), got into a fight with Sterling and won. Fueled by vengeance (Sterling is NOT a loser), Sterling murdered Alejandro (SHSL Soccer Player), using his injuries from his fight with Ashton as an alibi, but it was ultimately Maleko who solved Alejandro’s murder because he was the only one besides Sterling himself that had been inside Sterlings and Alejandro’s room. The next death was CeCe (SHSL Surfer), Ashton and Maleko’s best friend. Because of an emotional conversation the night before, Ashton was hungover, guilt-ridden, and refused to talk through almost the whole trial, instead placing blame on himself and Maleko having to explain why he was wrong, and that it wasn’t him. While most of the attention was turned on Ashton trying to blame himself, it went until almost the last second that Julia (SHSL Worker) had murdered CeCe after all. Maleko cried during the trial for the double murder. Finally, he did not object to Marco sacrificing himself for the freedom of the rest.

✧Birthplace: Honolulu, Hawaii
✧Backstory: It was just Maleko and his mom growing up, really. Although he does have vague memories of his father yelling at his mother, they got away from him when he was still very young. His mother instilled a love of Hawaii and Hawaiian culture in Maleko from a very young age, and Maleko basically made it his life’s duty to preserve as much of his culture as he could. He studied Hawaiian language, history, music, and especially dance. He found not only the most passion, but also the most success in hula, where he danced in both masculine and feminine styles, making him stand out in competitions.
Originally, he was going to turn down the invitation to Hope’s Peak to remain in Honolulu and practice, but after a terrible tropical storm ravaged his town and killed his mother, he found out that his mother had never officially divorced from his father, leaving him in his custody for two more years until he turned 18. Instead, he accepted the letter to Hope’s Peak last minute (bumping out Roman Walker (SHSL Missionary)) to escape.
