Description
I have seen loads of tutorials showing you how to boil & blowdry synthetic dreads... Boiling is hard & painful & blowdrying them makes dreads go crunchy! This tutorial shows you how I make my synthetic single ended dreads for falls & wigs, by steaming them with an iron, since we don't all own a steamer!
I've been making these for years & they turn out really well, it takes patience & time, but the result is worth it!
You can buy Kanekalon Jumbo Braid from Ebay or any, I guess, hair shop! Afro caribbean beauty stores sell this stuff... Always go for the Jumbo braid though, as some synthetic hair doesn't seal!
I live in England, Derby, I get mine from Sims Hair & Beauty in the Eagle Market. It's really cheap, only £2.50 per pack, but I KNOW you can get it cheaper than that!
Please see my Roving Dreads Tutorial too!

This is great! It's so hard to find a tutorial that explains what to do about the tips.

Thanks a lot for this tutorial! it will come handy coz i just got my Purple/UV white hair in and thought that there HAS TO BE A WAY other than boiling it all! So I'll try this out! You don't happen to know how to twist 2 colors in.. like a spiral thing? Not that, I wouldn't figure it out later but if there would be someone who has done it before it might be easier to do it.

it may be a stupid question, but how do you fix the fake dreads in your real hair?

Hi, i've never done this myself but I know people who have...
You separate a lock of you hair, divide the lock of hair into two pieces, then add your single ended dread by putting the loop over the one piece of you section of hair (leaving the other divided section free) so now you have two pieces of hair & your dread, basically just braid these together, using your two pieces of real hair & the dread to do this (like a three part braid).. When you've finished braiding add a small elastic band to secure the dread. Continue in sections, you might need someone to help you though..

i don't have dreads but my friend has and i was thinking of making her some fake dreads since her own became very few. of course they won't be coloured, so i thought i just could put the real dreads into the loops of the fake dreads and that's it?

Yeah, you could place the dread through the fake dread loop & just secure with a hair elastic (you know the tiny one's you can get from hair shops & salons...) That should work nicely
