Description
"I remember that life in that room seemed to be occurring beneath the sea. Time flowed past indifferently above us; hours and days had no meaning."-Giovanni's Room, by James Baldwin
for english class
(we have to do a "creative project" on the book)
(ps) I used wastingtime.deviantart.com/art⦠as a reference. No way I was drawing a chin at that angle from my head.

I love the contrast of his face above water with the rest of his body submerged, and interesting composition.

I think the chin looks great. And the water effect is fantastic. Plus I really love how the background is a room instead of some other underwater scene, like just fish in an ocean.

you're too sweet!!!!! thank you x100billion<3
if you haven't read the book this is for (giovanni's room) you totally should. you'd love it. it's about a gay american man in the 50s living in france and having lots of gay sex while being in denial. (and his fiance is a lesbian lol)
it's grrrreeeeat
(he's floating in water because sex = water, women = stagnant water, men(gayness) = rushing flood waters/the ocean WOOOOOOO SYMBOLISM)
THAT REPLY WAS WAY TOO LONG I'M SORRY LOL

Are you using this for a project for that class? (Love that class, that book is so intense and sad and great.)
If you bring this in Ms. Barber-Just will DIE of amazement. Guarantee. I thought this was a photomanip of his face into your painting until I looked closer.
