Description
This is a custom texture of dotNfg's poly reduced version of an original mesh by AlxFX . Many thanks to both of them for allowing me to make use of it.Edit: Change in logos and credits as was in error about who's low-poly version it was. My apologies to dotNfg & SGI.

I'm very happy to hear that you like it! It's always nice to have the mesh artist approve of the results!
My version is a little darker than SGI's take on it. I was going for something a bit more menacing... Not sure I actually managed that in the end but I liked the look of it anyways.

having just looked at the SGI version i have to say i much prefer your darker theme, way more menacing and elegant while still keeping it "techy" and im a sucker for the "designed" nordic hull pattern

The pattern is actually a voronoi generator I picked up a while back. It's configurable and I just applied it as a mask to height, color & AO layers to achieve the effect. In this case I used a very large tiling setting but you can see the same generator in play on the Death Glider render in the gallery too. I've found it to be handy, although I've done some of by hand in the past too.
If I were to revisit the project, I'd probably redo the edges by hand to properly line them up.

Hello:
I love this ship! I always wated to mak my own version since I saw the low-polygon version (that version was originally made by EpytronOmega (here Asgard Thor Class Orthos ) and textured by dotNfg and SGI).
Iam sure it must be great ingame

I've always loved this design too. It takes the elegant curves of the Asgard aesthetics and runs with them. Or at least that's how I see it.
It's not clear if EO's low poly was a base for this (dot's) version or not when he redid it a second time.

"It takes the elegant curves of the Asgard aesthetics and runs with them"
happy my original intention shows, and to add I also tried to make it feel more organic and streamlined a step above the oneill class wich at the time I found very blocky and basic

You did a great job of translating your vision into polygons then. That tends to be my issue when I do actual mesh work... It's rare that I end up with something that feels the way I intended it. That's why I appreciate work like yours here so much!

they did a great job of fixing it up for the game version tho my original was more a shape study that happened to turn into something very asgard looking and i ran with it from there, if you look closly enough you can see that the rear engine pylons has the same shape as the main body of the ship but rotated 90 degrees and sqooshed by 75%
Glad you like it tho cant wait to see more angles of it

I had never noticed that before! I didn't even pick up on it when I was doing the seaming on it. That was a clever trick that worked out quite well for you in this one.
I did do a series of different angles when I was prepping this. I wasn't sure how much interest there would be in multiple submissions but I may have to go browse through them and see what jumps out at me.

But, if you see it's shapes, it is also like a next-generation ship design, I would love to make my own version someday .
I have seen SGI using EO's models because he was the original leader, but I would not be surprised if the model you used is different as rebuilds would be done here and there (as I do that to my own models every now and then too 9.

That is what happened here and I mistakenly used the redone version. I hadn't meant to and that was the source of a bit of confusion for a bit. Sorted out now though and all is well.

Thanks. AlxFX and deserves most of the credit. dotNfg's low poly makes a few changes as well that I rather liked as well. I just did a texture for it. SGI already has a fantastic texture of their own for it, from which I borrowed a few ideas that just fit too well to not use too.
