"There are no transitional fossils!"
O RLY?
From top left to bottom left, in clockwise order: Archeopteryx, Protoarchepteryx, Australopithicus, Velociraptor, Patagopteryx, Probainognathus, Procynosuchus, Sphenacodon, Acanthostega, Ambulocetus, Hyracotherium. Just to name a few.
"There are no transitional fossils" is a typical Creationist assertion/misconception/lie. One they continue to spout despite the mountains of physical evidence that paleontologists continue to dig up.
Actually, I'll be prudent. Technically, EVERY animal is a "transitional form". There is a misconception about evolution- that it has a direction, that it is advancement, improvement, etc. Evolution doesn't always create something superior, just something adapted for a specific niche. A dinosaur doesn't live out its life one day hoping to evolve into a bird; it grows feathers to insulate it from the cold. Species don't exist to be a step to the next stage, they exist to survive, simple as that.
None the less, some forms appear more "transitional" then others, displaying a combination of features that are thought to be specific to certain groups, yet Creationists continue to deny their existence.
DISCLAIMER: This isn't meant to be an attack against Christians in general, just the idiot fundimentalists. xp
