Description Download the mod over here www.dropbox.com/s/6r4hyuk0ucsb… . The current version is 1.4.

1.1: Added missing animations for Robes, Power Armor
1.2: Added missing animations for Adv. Power Armor
1.3: Fixed visibility-sphere bug
1.4: Fixed sledgehammer displacement bug

If the game crashes when you're using this mod, report in the comments what weapon you were holding, what armor you were wearing and what you were doing when it crashed. There is a possibility that some animations are broken, which could crash the game.

When used together with the Fallout 2 Restoration Project. Un-check "Weapon Animations" during the installation or they'll be replaced with the regular human animations
Video of the mod in action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWywu3…

Wow, I really didn't expect it to be this much work to make a new playable character in Fallout 2. There were more than 5000 frames of animation all in all for one character with one type of armor. There are over 100 animations, each with several frames and for each frame there are 6 directions.

I made a Blender scene specifically for capturing 3d objects to Fallout 2 sprites, but still. There was A LOT of work to be done to make just a single character. I had to model all the weapons myself since they're also part of the model. And the death animations, oh Loki the death animations... So much blood. The blood was made using a combination of particle effects and fluid simulations in blender.

All in all it took about two weeks.

I'd like to thank KP-ShadowSquirrel for his AMAZING 3d models, Rhodarein for his cool little image of Littlepip, the people at No Mutants Allowed forums, and of course Kkat for making Fallout: Equestria in the first place! Wooh!

-- Fallout 2: Littlepip mod v1.3 --

This mod gives you the option to play through Fallout 2 as a pony from Fallout: Equestria, a crossover fiction between Fallout and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
There are no seperate armor animations. But hey, those things were made for humans right?

Instructions:

To use this mod you need the Hero apperence mod included in Sfall, which is an engine tweak for Fallout 2.

1. Install Fallout 2. If you don't have it you can buy it cheaply on Steam.

ALTERNATIVE 2. 3. Install the Fallout 2 Restoration Project

2. Install the Fallout 2 v1.02 patch (needed for Sfall)
You can get it here www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dloa…
Alternatively you can use Killaps unofficial patch from www.killap.net/

3. Download and extract Sfall in the folder where you installed Fallout 2
You can get Sfall here sourceforge.net/projects/sfall…

Sfall is now installed, but you still need to enable the Hero apperence mod.

4. Open the folder where you installed Fallout 2, and open the file ddraw.ini
Change the line EnableHeroAppearanceMod=0 to EnableHeroAppearanceMod=1

5. Copy the Appearance folder included in this archive to your Fallout 2 folder

Now when you create a female character, you can use the arrows above the spinning model to select Unicorn.

Issues:

Very often Fallout 2 tends to have a rainbow color bug in Windows 7. You'll know it if you see it.
If that happens, simply open ddraw.ini again and change the line Mode=0 to Mode=4

Check out donitz.deviantart.com/ for the latest version of this mod.

If you find any bad bugs, please report them in the comments. Do note that missing the fall-down animation when getting shot on a new screen is a bug in Fallout 2.

I'm going to be playing through the game myself now to properly test this mod. And it was some time ago since I last played Fallout 2

Enjoy!

See, Lego was a blank canvas to work from as that is what lego is. It's a means of creativity and so anything could be made from it. So here comes Star wars being bashed onto it, that's fine and actually seems legit. Hell if there was a MLP lego that would also seem legit.

But two actually defined and set up universes being bashed together? You have one side with magical ponies about friend ship is magic and the other side which is Fallout being this rather dark post-apocalyptic setting, I just can't see how they mix. Ever.

OK it's not your thing. Is it necessary to dictate other peoples enjoyment? It's not like Bethesda is shoving MLP into Fallout (beyond a few teensy easter eggs). The effect it has on your own enjoyment would be zero if you didn't let it get to you. It's not the artists fault you're so butthurt over it. It's yours. You're acting the same way an uptight religious person acts over same sex marriage. If you don't like ponies in your Fallout stop clicking on links to ponies in Fallout. Your bad time is your own damn fault.

He's just pissed that the creators of Fallout 4 loved MLP and Fallout: Equestria enough to put references to them in the game.

"I just can't see how they mix. Ever."

The people who like this are not responsible for your lack of imagination.

You need to find the folder where you installed fallout 2 and extract the files from the archive with for example 7z.

I am reporting back from a Linux system (Linux Mint 14.04 - Trusty Tahr).

After a bit of struggle I got to make it working, so in case any other Linux-user wondered, here is what I did:

1) Install Fallout 2
2) Install Killap's unofficial patch
3) Do the 4th and 5th point from the mod's author
4) In terminal, type 'winecfg', under Applications tab click Add application, find your Fallout2.exe and OK.
5) Click on the now present Fallout2.exe in the Application Settings box and go to 'Libraries' tab.
6) Into the 'New override for library' type ddraw.dll and click add and confirm.
7) You should have a 'ddraw (native, builtin)' listed in Existing_overrides.
8) Click OK and done, both, SFALL and this mod should work now, only for some reason it does so only if you launch the game directly from it's directory. (E.g: Double-clicking it's exe directly or launching it from a Terminal from it's directory with 'wine ./Fallout2.exe')

And now as of the mod itself: Love it. Even though I never played Fallout 2 before I like it much better than the Anthro mods for Fallout 3! Amazing work with all the textures!

Donitz In reply to tingmarco [2015-02-09 13:14:52 +0000 UTC]

This version should work just the same on mac, although the setup instructions would be different.

I don't really have time to make another model. I wish I'd have used a generic rig instead which would have made it easier to switch models.

I'm a total newb to this modding stuff, but not to getting old games to run.

But I'm stumped.

I got the game with the mod all running, then the next day, trying to open the game freezes my whole machine, making me have to do a force shut down.

I'm running windows XP.

I found a small bug. The mod worked perfectly for a time, but now I'm having a few issues. After I outed Chad for skimming and completed the missing person quest in Broken Hills, my character is a default female character unless I'm running. If I'm standing still or walking, it's just a regular old human. Any way to fix this?

EDIT: The problem only started when I equipped the scoped hunting rifle from the missing person quest. When I dequip it, I turn back into a pony again. It appears to be a problem with the rifle.

EDIT2: The same thing happens with the sniper rifle.

Donitz In reply to Cluelessbrony [2014-08-10 13:52:10 +0000 UTC]

The sniper rifle uses the generic rifle model and it seems to work fine. Which armor are you wearing?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cluelessbrony In reply to Donitz [2014-08-10 17:44:44 +0000 UTC]

It seems to be happening with any armour I put on. That includes the Bridgekeeper's Robes, Metal Armour, and Enclave Power Armour (I forget what it's actually called).

Oh right. You must accidentally have used the new animations.

So, I just managed to finish the game with the mod. Loved it.

One thing I noticed though is that Littlepip's running animation doesn't seem to go smoothly. It's especially visible when she runs in a straight line, with there being a bunch of milliseconds of break before the animation loops. I don't know if it's a problem with the animation itself or with how the game renders them...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Donitz In reply to UnimportantUsername [2014-08-05 18:51:24 +0000 UTC]

It could have been off by a frame. Or it could just have been Fallout 2, since he running animation is handled in a weird way.

Ah well, good idea to register and allow getting messages from the staff...for the sake of some nice offers later. It's guaranteed the Steam versions of the first Fallouts are not as good.

EnableHeroAppearanceMod is included in ddraw.ini in sfall. You have to replace the old files in the folder where you installed fallout 2.

Is there currently any way to edit the pony in game (such as coat color, mane color and/or mane style)? If not are there any plans to add anything like that? Also if there is no possible way to edit the pony in game, would it be possible and/or have your permission to edit the character model via files?

Donitz In reply to Zaphlyn [2014-04-22 21:11:18 +0000 UTC]

It would be possible to change the hue and colorize the sprites if you unpacked them all, edited them and them put them all pack in their respective files, but that's quite a long task unless you automate it.
