If the game crashes when you're using this mod, report in the comments what weapon you were holding, what armor you were wearing and what you were doing when it crashed. There is a possibility that some animations are broken, which could crash the game.
When used together with the Fallout 2 Restoration Project. Un-check "Weapon Animations" during the installation or they'll be replaced with the regular human animations

Wow, I really didn't expect it to be this much work to make a new playable character in Fallout 2. There were more than 5000 frames of animation all in all for one character with one type of armor. There are over 100 animations, each with several frames and for each frame there are 6 directions.
I made a Blender scene specifically for capturing 3d objects to Fallout 2 sprites, but still. There was A LOT of work to be done to make just a single character. I had to model all the weapons myself since they're also part of the model. And the death animations, oh Loki the death animations... So much blood. The blood was made using a combination of particle effects and fluid simulations in blender.
All in all it took about two weeks.
I'd like to thank KP-ShadowSquirrel for his AMAZING 3d models, Rhodarein for his cool little image of Littlepip, the people at No Mutants Allowed forums, and of course Kkat for making Fallout: Equestria in the first place! Wooh!

This mod gives you the option to play through Fallout 2 as a pony from Fallout: Equestria, a crossover fiction between Fallout and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
There are no seperate armor animations. But hey, those things were made for humans right?

Instructions:
To use this mod you need the Hero apperence mod included in Sfall, which is an engine tweak for Fallout 2.
1. Install Fallout 2. If you don't have it you can buy it cheaply on Steam.
ALTERNATIVE 2. 3. Install the Fallout 2 Restoration Project
2. Install the Fallout 2 v1.02 patch (needed for Sfall)

Alternatively you can use Killaps unofficial patch from www.killap.net/
3. Download and extract Sfall in the folder where you installed Fallout 2
You can get Sfall here sourceforge.net/projects/sfall…
Sfall is now installed, but you still need to enable the Hero apperence mod.
4. Open the folder where you installed Fallout 2, and open the file ddraw.ini
Change the line EnableHeroAppearanceMod=0 to EnableHeroAppearanceMod=1
5. Copy the Appearance folder included in this archive to your Fallout 2 folder
Now when you create a female character, you can use the arrows above the spinning model to select Unicorn.
Issues:
Very often Fallout 2 tends to have a rainbow color bug in Windows 7. You'll know it if you see it.
If that happens, simply open ddraw.ini again and change the line Mode=0 to Mode=4

If you find any bad bugs, please report them in the comments. Do note that missing the fall-down animation when getting shot on a new screen is a bug in Fallout 2.
I'm going to be playing through the game myself now to properly test this mod. And it was some time ago since I last played Fallout 2

the thing to note (besides unchecking "Weapon Animations" during installation) with the Restoration Project is that it includes both the v1.02 patch and sfall
so really all you need to do to use this appearance patch is install the restoration project and then copy the contents of this "Appearance" folder into the "Appearance" folder that the restoration project made

i just don't know what went wrong!

i start the game, get to the main menu......and i can't select anything....i can move the cursor around but not click anything.
and the game screen is like, 13 percent hidden on the left side. like its past the edge of a non-existant screen. non-existant because my screen is a lot wider than what the game seems to want to think is full screen.
is there a way to fix these problems?

it was my screen, it hid the buttons til i fixed the problem. until then, i didn't even know there were any buttons.

I couldn't seem to get it to work, though. I got my copy of fallout 2 from the website gog.com when they were giving it away for free about a week ago.
Let's see:
I installed Fallout 2.
I used the unofficial Killaps Restoration patch
I downloaded and extracted the Sfall folder (and placed the appearance folder in my fallout folder, but before that I didn't see any appearance folder that needed to be overwritten)
I changed the ddraw.ini file to read EnableheroApperanceMod=1
However there are no select arrows ABOVE the rotating female icon, only below it, meaning i can't change my race. It's the only step left and so dearly want to make this work.
Any idea how I could fix it? Any help from anypony would be appreciated.

You should probably rename the files before you move them by running the bat file inside Fallout 2\Appearance\HFR01S00\art\critters\ instead.

I'm not sure how well sfall works together with F2RP.
What you could do is to replace the default female character with Pip. Open the Appearance folder and locate the art folder, cut and paste it into Fallout 2\DATA.
Download and put this batch file dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/69… inside Fallout 2\DATA\art\critters\ , and run it ONLY FROM THAT FOLDER. It will rename all the files in the same folder as the .bat file.
And that should work.

It crashes when you try to repair the repairbot in the rat caves, but only if the repair skill is relatively high.(my guess is it crashes on successful repair)

It doesn't sound like the crash could be caused by the mod since there shouldn't be any unique animations there.

That's possible, even with the patch, Fallout 2 is quite buggy. Also, it's not not a crash, or even important, but when you load the game, you can see the chitsa character next to the pony.

Just thought you might want to know (If you don't already) but when using the FN FAL you go back to using the standard female model. It's not really a big problem or anything, it's just that I want to be a pony all the time. Because, you know, ponies.

I tried to follow your instructions, but for whatever reason, the hero appearance mod doesn't seem to be installed. Any idea what might have gone wrong? The EnableHeroAppearanceMod=0 line just isn't there. I know that at least some parts of Sfall must be installed because the windowed mode is working just fine.

The ini file is included in the archive for sfall so if you extracted it in the correct folder the line should be there.

That was strange, I got it to work by reinstalling fallout, and then installing the unofficial patch instead of the other. I got one crash while wearing a leather jacket while fighting a small gecko with a combat knife, but aside from that it's been working fine.

So i don't want to start a new game, and the model is cool, how is the model called in-script?
I tried to change ddraw.ini:

You can change the gender with F2SE but short from overwriting the original player sprites (after extracting them in the fallout 2 folder from CRITTER.DAT) I don't know how to do it.
