Description Download the mod over here www.dropbox.com/s/6r4hyuk0ucsb… . The current version is 1.4.

1.1: Added missing animations for Robes, Power Armor
1.2: Added missing animations for Adv. Power Armor
1.3: Fixed visibility-sphere bug
1.4: Fixed sledgehammer displacement bug

If the game crashes when you're using this mod, report in the comments what weapon you were holding, what armor you were wearing and what you were doing when it crashed. There is a possibility that some animations are broken, which could crash the game.

When used together with the Fallout 2 Restoration Project. Un-check "Weapon Animations" during the installation or they'll be replaced with the regular human animations
Video of the mod in action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWywu3…

Wow, I really didn't expect it to be this much work to make a new playable character in Fallout 2. There were more than 5000 frames of animation all in all for one character with one type of armor. There are over 100 animations, each with several frames and for each frame there are 6 directions.

I made a Blender scene specifically for capturing 3d objects to Fallout 2 sprites, but still. There was A LOT of work to be done to make just a single character. I had to model all the weapons myself since they're also part of the model. And the death animations, oh Loki the death animations... So much blood. The blood was made using a combination of particle effects and fluid simulations in blender.

All in all it took about two weeks.

I'd like to thank KP-ShadowSquirrel for his AMAZING 3d models, Rhodarein for his cool little image of Littlepip, the people at No Mutants Allowed forums, and of course Kkat for making Fallout: Equestria in the first place! Wooh!

-- Fallout 2: Littlepip mod v1.3 --

This mod gives you the option to play through Fallout 2 as a pony from Fallout: Equestria, a crossover fiction between Fallout and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
There are no seperate armor animations. But hey, those things were made for humans right?

Instructions:

To use this mod you need the Hero apperence mod included in Sfall, which is an engine tweak for Fallout 2.

1. Install Fallout 2. If you don't have it you can buy it cheaply on Steam.

ALTERNATIVE 2. 3. Install the Fallout 2 Restoration Project

2. Install the Fallout 2 v1.02 patch (needed for Sfall)
You can get it here www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dloa…
Alternatively you can use Killaps unofficial patch from www.killap.net/

3. Download and extract Sfall in the folder where you installed Fallout 2
You can get Sfall here sourceforge.net/projects/sfall…

Sfall is now installed, but you still need to enable the Hero apperence mod.

4. Open the folder where you installed Fallout 2, and open the file ddraw.ini
Change the line EnableHeroAppearanceMod=0 to EnableHeroAppearanceMod=1

5. Copy the Appearance folder included in this archive to your Fallout 2 folder

Now when you create a female character, you can use the arrows above the spinning model to select Unicorn.

Issues:

Very often Fallout 2 tends to have a rainbow color bug in Windows 7. You'll know it if you see it.
If that happens, simply open ddraw.ini again and change the line Mode=0 to Mode=4

Check out donitz.deviantart.com/ for the latest version of this mod.

If you find any bad bugs, please report them in the comments. Do note that missing the fall-down animation when getting shot on a new screen is a bug in Fallout 2.

I'm going to be playing through the game myself now to properly test this mod. And it was some time ago since I last played Fallout 2

Enjoy!

Wow.
I won't play it - I just cannot play Fallout since I have read FoE - but I have played F2 before.
Still, just... wow.

Umm, i followed the instructions. But it doesn't work, in fact, none of the changes i make in the Sfall take effect in the game. I put them both into the same file as the game and, nothing. Is it because I open the game via steam?

Donitz In reply to TommyVercettiJK [2012-08-25 04:48:34 +0000 UTC]

No. The steam version works. Did you extract sfall to the fallout 2 folder and change "EnableHeroAppearanceMod=1" in ddraw.ini?

TommyVercettiJK In reply to Donitz [2012-08-25 17:35:49 +0000 UTC]

yes, but Sfall doesn't seam to have any effect. In fact i don't even think the patch did anything, and they are all in the same file as the game.

As long as you unpacked them in steamapps/common/fallout 2 it really should work.

yes

Try installing the Fallout 2 Restoration Project using the installer executable. Un-check "new weapon animations" during the installation.

Nothing, I installed the restoration project (I assume that is the unofficial killap patch in this link [link] ) and it only crashes my game.

So, which restoration project are you talking about?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Donitz In reply to Amalvi [2012-08-26 12:15:17 +0000 UTC]

That's the one, but it's a very old version. Use this one instead [link]

Amalvi In reply to Donitz [2012-08-26 12:54:50 +0000 UTC]

So, I download that patch. I need to re install fallout 2 with humongous installation. I install that patch (Making sure weapons animations are unchecked). Patch takes a while to install. It works. Going to put sfall. it's already there. enableheromod=1. Still nothing shows

Donitz In reply to Amalvi [2012-08-26 13:49:58 +0000 UTC]

Wait, nevermind. You said you used "humongous".

Amalvi In reply to Donitz [2012-08-26 14:12:18 +0000 UTC]

I reopened sfall.zip again and put it inside the fallout2 folder and set enableheromod=1 again, but is like if sfall didn't work at all

yellownukacola In reply to ??? [2012-08-24 23:40:48 +0000 UTC]

So after you playtest the mod and work through the bugs, are you thinking about adding other ponies as well? Not that I'm not super excited as it is and as soon as I get time, I'm going to finally playthrough Fallout 2 as a kickass unicorn, just curious.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Donitz In reply to yellownukacola [2012-08-25 05:24:39 +0000 UTC]

Making a single character took quite a while and the whole FRM conversion procedure to Fallout 2 was really frustrating, so I don't think I will be making any more characters. Or at least not in a long time.

This is such a cool idea. I haven't read Fallout: Equestria (Would love to once I'm no longer working on ponies) but the fact remains that Fallout 2 is my absolute favorite game ever. Can't wait to try this out.

My god, I haven't played it in years.

Does it work fine with foreign language versions? I'd love to try it out, but I would also prefer to keep the game in my native language.

Also, any chance for YouTube video links to show us how it works in the actual game?

Depends on if sfall works for that version.

This is awesome. You are awesome.

I also shall reinstall it so I have the proper version, and possibly, I also shall shoehorn the new sfall into this if it means having Pip finally be a pony when wielding her rifle.

Kudos to you man, I'm loving Fo2 all the more for this.

Donitz In reply to Tosxychor [2012-08-25 04:52:36 +0000 UTC]

I mentioned the fix to the rifle bug in the description.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tosxychor In reply to Donitz [2012-08-26 13:28:45 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, yeah, I saw that just after posting, and I fixed it Too bad comments can't be edited here.
Still, the sniper rifle animations (using Restoration Project) is missing, so I just can't see (and do) anything when I equip that. Sadly not even reactivating the additional animations would do the trick. Any idea on how to fix that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Donitz In reply to Tosxychor [2012-08-26 13:47:40 +0000 UTC]

Strange. All rifles, laser rifle, hunting rifle and sniper rifles use the same animations. So if you can use a hunting rifle the sniper rifle should work normally. The Restoration Project didn't mention anything about custom Sniper Rifle animations.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tosxychor In reply to Donitz [2012-08-26 20:33:45 +0000 UTC]

Ah, that's also true, the larger rifles don't work for me in general, although the new animation do fix that now, after reloading the game oh well, at least I could clear out the Sierra Base anyway xD
