I often see people saying ' I don't know how to draw/paint mechanical stuff! it's so hard!" And I agree!

it's a pain in the butt if work in the traditional sketch --> lines -- > colors
BUT!

Here's a quick tutorial on how to do mechanical/robots quick and easy! Basic idea is you carve out what you want and paint over what you don't-

If you flip the script and try working with the paint like its clay you can *Carve* out shapes and volumes really fast and use *that* to figure out your character and your line art

I see this a lot in biomech or mech art, its also similar to what speedpaint/concept artists will do for quick versioning - if you give it a try let me know how it goes!
