Description
A confuciusornithid sleeps under the cover of night in an Early Cretaceous ginkgo tree. However the night brings other threats and if you're asleep, you're not going to notice them untill it's too late.Another drawing I made for hisΒ new blogpost but in the end it didn't get used because it was a bit too dark and unclear. However, I'll just upload it here too, because why not.
EDIT:Β The sequel post

As others said, look for the eye and when you see it, the limbs and tail will follow.

Look for the eye. It's brighter than the stars.

Enantiornithine?
Isn't that a confuciusornithid? The tail gave me that impression.

Looks like I thought confuciusornithids were part of enantiornithes...Β

Apparently Xiangornis is an enantiornithine with a double-ribboned tail...
From the Jiufotang formation, too.

I had to open this up on Photoshop and adjust the brightness to see this.
Wow, this reminds me of my cave lion! Microraptor? Now I see a reason for those dark feathers.

Yeah, more people have trouble seeing stuff, which is weird because I can see everything good enough. I can see the Micro's silhouette (hidden though, but visible once you see its eye) and all like the bird, leaves, large branches and the grashopper. Only the gecko-like lizard is hard to spot for me. I guess my screen settings are just different or I can see everything because I know what's where?
I guess I better just use a nightcam effect next time I have make something similar.
That was also a fun search for that lion in your work even though it was brighter, you had hidden it really well

Yeah, I had a bit of a chore adjusting the brightness for my cave scene.
I think a boost in the brightness in Photoshop should fix it. Just go to "Image", then "Adjustments", and click on "Brightness/Contrast", then you can dial up the brightness to you liking.
Yeah, nightcam gives you a light source to work with. Plus there's no colour needed, so it's simpler.
Thanks!

Same here, this drawing consists out of different layers, all with their own brightness edits. I didn't want to make it clearer though, it's the intention the Micro is hidden but it can indeed be hard to see clearly here.

Well, you could flatten the image, but that's up to you.
Ok.

Imo there are some who pulled the nighttime-attacker-scene better off, but thanks!
Quite a lot of people say they have some trouble to see clearly so I think it's good that it was left aside for the blog. I better use a nightcam effect next time.Β

Okay then, but still, it's kinda hard to get everything well hidden without making it too hard to see. Finding that golden mean is a bit difficult.
