Description Daisy smiled precariously at the thought of what Suzy was suggesting. Her crooked smile barely masked her uncertainty, but thankfully both Amanda and Zarah helped deflect attention, both of them smiling brightly as Suzy spoke giddy with enthusiasm. Are they actually into this? Is it just me who's a bit concerned?

Tomorrow night was to be the night of the eagerly anticipated Halloween festival and Suzy had made an eleventh hour suggestion on costume. Over the past few weeks the festival had been elevated from a place of triviality to one of social importance as word spread that many familiar faces from their days at Sherwik High would be there. The night was building into an unexpected and unofficial school reunion and this triggered Suzy's thinking. She was keen to make an impact, like she had always done back in Sherwik. The festival presented the perfect opportunity for her to reprise her place at the summit of popularity once again.

Daisy had been popular too, mostly of her own merit but partly through association to Suzy. She had really enjoyed school but time had moved on. Eight years had passed since they last stood foot in Skerwik High and the once familiar faces had disappeared from her life. High School was an enjoyable yet fading memory, greater and more recent milestones such as college, travelling and now working life had pushed back thoughts of Sherwik and kept her looking forward. New lives and relationships had been forged and the tenuous links to old classmates had long dissolved. Are we even important to these people anymore? I wonder when's the last time they even thought of me?

"Can you imagine people's faces?" Suzy teased.

Amanda and Zarah giggled as they imagined awestruck reactions from old classmates. Daisy's smile grew fatigued, her mask was dropping. She had a very different idea of how people might react to them in their old Cheerleading uniforms.

"We have to do it. It will be amazing. First time in like almost ten years. This is the perfect way to capture everyone's attention and remind them what Sherwik was all about!".

"It's an amazing idea" pandered Amanda, who obviously had little concern about fitting into an outfit from almost a decade ago during younger and more athletic times. This was the crux of Daisy's concern, not the idea but the execution. Turning up in full cheerleader attire only works if you can still pull it off. For Suzy, this evidently wasn't a problem. She beamed confidence and was almost identical to the slim toned version of herself last seen at Sherwik High. No surprise as why she's so keen. Zahra and Amanda were thicker now, but still trim and recognisable to their former figure. They had filled out precisely as people might have imagined and could probably slip back into their old outfits with glamour in tact.

Daisy however, couldn't say the same for herself. She hadn't the time or the will power to slave over maintaining a body which in reality she never wanted nor expected to maintain. In post school life she had gained weight and lost the toned physique that was once so effortlessly hers. Over the course of eight years her lifestyle had changed drastically; college parties, work nights out, long hours, less time, more food, less exercise. Her current body was the product of a busy life and was no longer fit to wear the cheerleading uniform.

"The only thing is" Zarah began with a  notable shift in tone. "I'm not sure if I still even have mine?" A perfect excuse thought Daisy. And more perfect again that I didn't have to say it.

"Oh yeh, me neither" Daisy added, hoping Suzy would promptly fold on the idea she so enthusiastically put forward.

Instead Suzy scoffed. It was a playful yet disarming gesture. "Believe me girls, its there, maybe at the back of your closet, but believe me, its there."

She spoke with certainty and had good reason to be confident. Daisy would never dare throw out her cheerleading uniform. It was more than just a outfit, it was a symbol of her time and place at Sherwik High. It was a sacred piece of clothing, like a wedding dress and throwing it out would be like discarding a part of her identity. Daisy was proud of being a cheerleader, as were all the girls. Feelings of pride and nostalgia began to surface as Daisy began to accept her costume faith for tomorrow night. It had been decided for her and she would find a way to make it work.
