"Olivia Gerrard had traveled for days, deep into the rain forest on her latest assignment with the Geographic Botanica Society. As an experienced wildlife and nature photographer, she readily jumped at the opportunity to document one of the rarest plants in the world. The enormous plant was as tall as a three story house and only flowered once every six years. No one had ever captured the plant flowering on film, and Olivia was determined to be the first.

The indigenous guides delivered her to within a kilometer of the plant, and then to her surprise, they informed her that they would not proceed any further. Taking only her light backpack and camera, she proceeded on until she reached a grove that stood out amidst the dark chaotic mass of the jungle. In the middle of the grove stood the unearthly plant, its enormous petals almost glowing from the sunlight beaming through the clearing of the trees. To her dismay, the plant had already begun flowering, but even photos at this stage would still be unprecedented. Carefully climbing up to a suitable position on tree, Olivia pulled out her camera and prepared herself for what was to come."
