I know this isn't that funny,
but then again, the truth never is.
EDIT: I should point out now, that this strip doesn't mean I hate the show.

All I am getting from this is that awesome spices being mixed together to make awesome sauce. Why is Conroy unimpressed?

It's a good sum-up of what the show was! Now that I think about it, there may have been just a smidgen of "Hellboy" in the mix, too.

I remember in the Spiderman cartoon that everyone had lasers, even bank robbers.

That's because it aired on Fox Kids, which wouldn't allow real guns, punching, or saying the words "death" or "kill".

Interesting that Warners allowed death and guns in the Batman series. Guess they didn't look down on kids and (dare I say it) trusted their intellegence.
You don't get many cartoons that quote George Santanya.

Didn't that air on weekday afternoons?
They let a lot slide during that time compared to Saturday mornings.
Or maybe Bruce Timm and his crew pulled some strings, who knows.

I don't know, maybe it was different in the UK. Sadly because there's been restrictions on advertising for kids it's reduced the amount of cartoons on non-BBC channels.
Fortunately we have the Avengers cartoon on. I like that one.

Even Butch Hartman acknowledged that equation. He said it was something that he would want to come home everyday to watch.

Yeah, I noticed that too.
I also should say that for a cartoon show about ghosts the ghost don't appear to be very scary...at all.
I like the show. I'm just saying it did seem more cartoonish superhero than supernatural ghost phenomenon.

I noticed that too. Heck, the ghosts in the show were able to have age, and have children too!
And they had ghosts with the powers over sleep, plants, and weather? Who were they the ghosts of?
And everyone shoots laser beams! I know shooting lasers is less imitable than punching people, but its weird that everyone shoots it. I figured it's some form of telekinesis.

Butch Hartman mentioned once that they're not ghosts as in "dead people's spirits" (except for those seen in the earliest episodes), but just living creatures from another world.
And though I like DP, I feel that The Secret World of Alex Mack did the "teen-with-powers" theme first and better.

Yeah, it was obvious they didn't venture too deep into the horrific aspects of the whole Ghost Theme.
That was one of the reasons why I liked Ghostbusters. It may have been a cartoon, but the ghosts in the show (especially certain episodes) could be looked at as creepy and spooky.

As basic as the concept is, I still really liked the cartoon. When it was airing, it definitely stayed good long after Fairly Odd Parents started to stagnate.
