This is me at work, in my M1-A2 Abrams Main Battle Tank. This was actually a couple of weeks ago. We wanted to conduct a test fire of all weapon systems, including main gun. This pic was taken by my paltoon sergent of me lettin' a HEAT round go down range. Oh, and if you look VERY closely, you can actually see the round going toward it's target, which was an abandoned hovel out in the middle of nowhere.Related content

That's too bad that it's only a test fire; if it was real, there would certainly be several less terrorists in the world to worry about...

This was acutally from my first deployment back in '03. This was right before we left. Just firing off rounds becasue the unit that repaced us was Marines, and they didn't have any armor with them for us to just transfer rounds over to.

It's not like they couldn't have just transfered them to another armor unit in theater...ah well. Typical US Army heh.
I wonder if there was a pickup truck at the end of the range to pick up the spent bits sabot and HEAT.

Neat shot. You are allowed to shoot 'wildlife'? In my army life so far it is against rules to harass or kill wild animals.

Well, They Use to let us hunt Wild Dogs, but that wen't out the window a couple of months ago.

Woaa!!! Is a magnificent MBT. ^^ Appears US offered it to Brazilian Army, but we choose the older M60A3TTS instead... because the M1 is too heavy for brazilian road and bridge system ^^

Well, it was an abandoned house, so no one got hurt, exsept for the wild dog's i hosed down with 7.62mm coax machine gun
