So's I got bored and whipped up my own version of the Starfleet communicator badge. I wanted it to be super minimalist, without any extra shapes behind the traditional logo or any special interpretation of the traditional crest. I did add that weirdly elongated star thing that you sometimes see on the starship pin striping, and added a slight outward bow.The familiar chevron is in polished gold, framed with obsidian, and backed with platinum. The star is also in high polish platinum.

Funny thing about this is that I think I subconsciously ripped off the design from the embroidered logo used in the original star trek series' uniforms. I didn't even realize that until I was looking for cloth patterns to try to make a version of this that looks like it's attached to a shirt.
