Description
...until you've seen a bumbling fat man get run over with a piano. Long live slapstick comedy!Done as a present for my Grandpa. Unfortantaly, this dissolves the notion I had that drawing portraits would be less effort than braving the crowds. x_x
The blacks looks a little chunky here. It's much softer in person.
(Graphite on bristol, blending stumps, kleenex, chamois, mechanical pencil, and a stress ball.)

That's amazing! Have you taken art classes, did you draw from a photo? I can't draw from photos for the life of me

Amazing.
How... I'm sorry, this is a total braindead and n00b question, but... how did you learn how do draw so well?
I've never taken art classes before either, but I'm only mediocre

Lots of practice. A few good drawing books don't hurt either.
But I think the most important part is your mindset. You can't let yourself give up even when you churn out stuff you think looks crappy. Just move on and learn from any mistakes you might make. (Lord knows I've made my share and them some)

More effort than facing the crowds, but a much more wonderful, thoughtful prezzie -- another nice mess indeed!
(And if you're easily amused by slapstick, so am I -- I never miss a chance to catch the old Keaton or Chaplin or Lloyd silents, and anyone who tries to tell me girls don't like the Three Stooges is guaranteed an earful.)

Isn't it another fine mess? And yes, the stooges are indeed made of awesome. But Laurel and Hardy still pwn.

He never actually says "fine mess", but variants on "nice mess" abound -- they did do a short titled "another fine mess", though, which is probably why everyone blurs that title into the quotes.

Don't they though? Maybe I'm just easily amused, but I find slapstick very humorous.

Beautiful work! The tones are just outstanding! I know what you mean by the scanner messing things up. Honestly, I believe that a personalized gift is the best thing you can give. I would still say that this was better than braving the crowds. ^_^
