Excellent work! I dunno if Manda will ever get a proper fight with Godzilla (or not get killed by Gotengo lol), but nice scene here. Looks like you used the "Destroy All Monsters" Manda design, less ornate than the first Manda or the Final Wars Manda, but ultimately more successful lol.

This makes for an interesting fight because Godzilla cant really use his atomic breath on Manda while he's constricting him.

Questions if you don't mind. How many polys are on the models? What did you use for the details, is it just polypaint/texture or the model?

This model is about 35mil polys. There's no powlypaint. Just render passes with different materials and lighting. The model is textured on the mesh with alphas and brushes. no texture maps. Then I render out several passes, and compose in photoshop with some post work for illustration purposes. I hope that answers your questions.Β

This is certainly the mile long version of him.Β Looks great though. I think I am one of the few people that like this more "bland" version of Manda....as opposed to Chinese Dragon like look.

Β Β Β The 'framing' given by the foreground scenery definitely enhances this image. While your first image rather nicely captured the 'suits-and-puppets-on-the-stage' vintage look, this really feels like an authentic scenario. The added visibility and colour gives a sense of depth, and more importantly, scale. This image makes me feel as though I'mΒ looking through the eyes of a person,Β perhaps a photographer or filmmaker, whoΒ has chosen to record the event. It puts it on the same catastrophic level as a scene out of a war documentary.Few images, and even fewer kaiju films, have managed to do that (or try, for that matter).
