Sorry, I'm new to this, I do not know what a single base is. If your talking about the lines, then you use the bucket tool as well. You just need to zoom in on the line and use it.

Once you select the bucket tool, click on that rainbow thing. Turn off easy setting. Then adjust the expansion. Expansion 0 means that it will fill exactly. Expansion 2 makes it expand more. Expansion -3 makes it expand less. So on so forth.
