I am endlessly impressed by artists who understand both traditional and digital media. I'll keep this tutorial in mind as I try to learn the traditional side of things (the much more loveable side of the two, I think =d ).
Thank you for sharing it, you're a wonderful watercolor artist!

Oh, man. If I wasn't so scared of painty stuff I'd totally go for this. TOTALLY. Maybe when I'm older and wiser. <3

you should try it. the worst that could happen is that you'd end up with a bad painting, and that's not such a terrible thing.

what two well colored sexy men typing something on type writer. This is a great tutorial, very well broken apart. If i did not have a fear of watercolors i would be painting up a storm. <3

I gotta <3 you.
There is a question that has been swallowing my thoughts, soul, and mind. I tried to find books on it, but there isn't, perhaps because it's a stupid question.
Okay, um, how do you build-up more layers? I mean did you use the left-over wash and just glaze over the old layer or did you add more colour to the wash so that it's darker or did you make another mixture? Every time you put another layer on top?
I find it amazing that you used 90lb. I used 140 lb and still it buckles when I put down a large wash. And I do stretch the paper.
Thank you for the tutorial. It's wonderful.

building up more layers? hm. i do make a darker color - i don't actually mix my wash up in the little watercolor pan thing, i just slap some paint on my brush and then put it down on the paper and use water to thin it out if need be. does that make sense? i think it woud work if you wantedd to add more color to the wash so it's darker as well, or you can just make another mixture. i use essentially pretty much the same colors i used for the wash to shade with, just in greater concentration.
does that make sense? blegh, i'm so bad at explaining watercolor. i'm going to try and do another tutorial that's simply a face so i can show in greater detail how i shade, i think.
i use the cheapest watercolor paper known to man, honest. my watercolor paper costs $2 for a 15-sheet pad. ahhahah. so ghetto, so ghetto.
if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

This is something that I really enjoy seeing nowadays. You always see those CG Tutorials, but you never really see these traditional media ones around. Thanks for making it~ It's all very awesome work ^__^ I've always been a secret fan of your art on Gaia and off <3
