Besides Deadpool's powers, I think you made the right choice to leave out the blood for both compositional and thematic reasons. Blood in water will make it cloudy real fast, which would a) threaten to obscure all the finely detailed weapons you put work into, and b) even more importantly it would make it harder to communicate to the audience "yes this background is a pool", which is crucial for the title-pun delivery.
And this is me personally, but I think this particular picture would be less funny with blood in it.
P.S. Took me a few minutes to spot the noose around his neck. PRICELESS!
