You people are over-reacting to this way to much too. If you don't want it to be slash it doesn't have to be.
They obviously aren't doing anything questionable in the picture.

i don't get what's wrong with this? everybody's going on about how horrible it is because it's gay/yaoi and i understand how a lot of people can perceive this as gay/yaoi. but i think that's because their opinion is backed up by the fact that it's in a yaoi group. but that doesn't mean you should rant about how wrong it is because it's gay.
yes i understand that batman and nightwing are really popular characters and that seeing them in this kind of situation is somewhat disturbing for a hardcore fan. but seriously this is fan art. the artist has the right to draw in whatever way they wish to draw fanart unless it really has a sexual theme or stuff that goes against rules.
if you think think that this supports gay/ yaoi so be it. what can you do about it other than rant about how horribly gay it is? ban the artist because s/he drew 2 male figures in a very close physical postion that doesn't show too much skin or genitals for that matter and is well executed and has beautiful observation of the human anatomy?
the other day i saw a fan art of 2 certain male characters that are actually making out while holding each other romantically and it was on the popular page but i didn't see any hate on the comments why does this deserve more hate when there's barely anything sexual going on, is it because this is full body and the other one was half body? :I

The way you've seen this fanart is entirely you. The artist hasn't said this is slash/yaoi/boyxboy. You have seen this as slash, that is not the artists fault. As for the 'making fun of' no idea where you got that, maybe because you saw slash and you thought it was being made fun of. I see the fanart as Batman saving Nightwing's arse because he got into a trouble, I also see the yaoi part but only after reading comments.

I would just say that I am a great fan of Batman, and he's always been treated as a hero, and not only a hero, but a hero who fights the bad side alone - not with some poxy-moxy post-production characters. That is subsequently linked with male dignity as well. Also, you should not say that it is not only about the artist's attitude, because art is not made only for those who produce it, but for the general public as well, which means that art is focusing on a large number of individuals, who should be able to express their opinion. Saying that it is only about one's personal view, well, then you doubt the meaning art itself.

i don't think so. you can critique it yes. and possibly voice your opinion, yes.
but this is mainly about the subject. obviously, what is done is done. they preferred to draw the picture above so lay off of them.

Here, I'll tell you why. Because anything which is not under some kind of control is sooner or later gets out of control and is dagerous in one or another way. To be more clear, it's like laws - something which is normal is legal and something which is not is illegal. This is why for example in Europe some things are illegal and in India and Asia same are legar...and so on. I mean that something which is not generally accepted by the public (like this image e.g.) should be treated just like everything else. Excuses like... don't bother to express your opinion, because the artist likes it is a bit odd to me. Artists should be controlled as well, but not in the maner of most people think. Control should be indirect, and of course not offenssive. I think I've had enough of talking on that subject, but I hope a least a few people have read these remarks and share my views.

That isn't having your own opinion. That is reacting negatively to how others view this. Just because people who like this kind of stuff commented on it shouldn't effect how you yourself see it. As you said "Art is made for the public" (or something to that effect). I do believe that you are a person. Form your opinion based on the art not everyone else's reaction to it. Stand up for how you see it not against someone else's belief.
You are critiquing fans/followers not the art. Expect to get people who disagree especially in this environment if you critique them.
