Same, I never really saw him as a villain. Thor is the story of a guy who finds out he's adopted and doesn't take it very well.

I was never really familiar with Marvel comics(I was a DC kid), so I don't know how he's portrayed in the series, but I agree--in the movie, I just didn't want to think of him as a villain. I honestly didn't buy his progression from being an eager to please kid, to a jealous brother who just wanted to ruin his popular bother's big day, to someone who wanted to take over Asgard.

I have a godchild named loki lolz,
I didnt see him as a villian either it was cuz of the fact that he carried the blood of the ice giants that he became feared and in a way I think it hurt him and he became confused and in that confusin jealous of thor, to me he was like a child lashing out against something he didnt know and just needed his fathers love and approval.

Aw, I really like how you take him out of heroic context, no fighting pose, no villain/hero pose, nothing of the sort. It gives a scene that is peaceful and.. delightful, I'd say. I really liked Loki in the movie as well. They almost even made the helmet not look silly. This, though, is beautiful.

no one really wants him to be a villian. Honestly, if Loki did exist in our reality, he already has an nation of fans who would follow him no questions asked.

X3 He looks so peaceful and cute! And apparently you won't have so much trouble thinking of him as evil after Avengers... he's supposed to be getting his evil on! 
But yeah, his character is too complicated to just call him a villain... It's like calling a diamond a rock. It's technically true, but it doesn't tell the whole story.
