I first saw Raiden in the concept art (which is gorgeous, by the way), and it always tends to have him with his hair flowing and back arched, so I assumed it was a girl.
Or course, when I got some better pictures and actually played the game, I realized it was a dude.
And a very attractive dude at that, a ho ho ho~.

lol XD i think its from the experience of anime all in itself.And I seriously think that they're poking fun at bishounen characters XD cause in anime/manga, you get the dude-that-looks-like-a-chick a lot XDDD maybe that or, ...Raiden just didnt seem girly XD
