Seeing this reminds me how Malik is rather 'stuck', so to speak, in the Assassins Bureau. Think about it. The entrance is on the roof, and he'd have to scale the wall to get out. How the frick could he do that with one arm?
Then I think to myself.... I can see Altair giving Malik a helping hand to get him out of that damned Bureau. Their relation later in the game permits that, doesn't it?

My version about the thing is that the wall inside the bureau (other side of the counters where Malik usually is, there's a blank wall between two bookcases on the right side) is not a real one, but a curtain of some sorts that hides Malik's back room/bedroom/randomstuffwth. And I've stuck to that conclusion for a while now. :3

I don't think Malik's nose is too large. ^^ Middle Eastern dudes do tend to have bigger noses, although I think his is rounder, and less pointy.
