I love the feel of this moment- the stillness and pensiveness really show.
Personally, I think that for the early years of the rebuilding, Altair and Malik ran the Brotherhood as partners, with Alty performing missions/recruiting more Assassins and Malik taking care of the daily operations/logistics (Malik'll always be the smarter of the two to me XD).

I read through the codex pages randomly after I had collected them all, and more then once I found myself crying because what I imagined was just.... A life not like any other. The fact that he devoted himself to figuring out what he meant to destroy, and what he saw within it....
The page where he talked about Malik and the others trying to convince him to stop working made me cry too.

When reading the codex pages, I tried to imagine what their life became like after everything happened. My impression was that they became best buddies! *grin* I would have imagined them being a lot messier when studying that, but I think the way you captured their confusion is fantastic.
I agree with you about the depth thing. I am amazed by Altair's "is and was". I love how he went from proud to....not so proud (haha, not quite humble). Anyway, here I rant again. In conclusion, great pic!
