Resident Evil REbirth - These are some fantasy-game ideas of what I would have done with the story and characters of Resident Evil. Coming up with ideas for Rebecca and Billy was a little more challenging... Considering I wanted to tie in aspects of RE5 in with it. Even though I don't like the game, I wanted to try and include at least something from it, as well as the other games I don't care for either. If you see any plot-holes or have something to add, I'm all ears. (TL;DR warning)Also, I realize I drew Billy's tattoo on the wrong side. Shit.
Rebecca Chambers:
After parting ways with Billy and surviving the Mansion Incident, Rebecca is suspended indefinitely from the RPD along with the rest of the STARS team. After exchanging contact information with the rest of the group, Rebecca left Raccoon City immediately to return to her family. Similar to Barry, she was worried about the safety of her parents, not to mention wanting to get herself situated from the jarring events. Fortunately with the other STARS to back up her word, Rebecca convinced her family of the truth behind Umbrella and went into hiding alongside Barry's family.
Going into hiding didn't stop her efforts of helping the STARS however. She constantly researched as much as she could about Umbrella, relaying anything new she learned to the rest of the team. Realize just how overwhelming the situation was from the beginning though, Rebecca knew they needed all the help they could get if they realistically wanted to take down Umbrella. With the rest of the RPD out of the picture, her mind could only go to one individual: Billy Coen. And so, alongside her Umbrella research, Rebecca also took personal time trying to find out just what happened to the ex-convict.
Rebecca was a crucial part in Jill's rescue when Raccoon city was destroyed. She managed to track down Jill's coordinates which she gave to Barry so that he could pick her up with his helicopter.
2 years pass with only the tail-end of any leads becoming present to her, especially being that helping the STARS was her main priority- Especially once Chris disappeared to head to Europe alone. Finally after the most other situations had calmed down, she managed to get a very reliable lead saying that Billy was now working as a freelancer in Africa. As soon as she was able, Rebecca decided to travel there herself and meet with him in person. She gets the help of a guide who had met Billy before: Sheva Alomar. Her trip ended up becoming far more than she expected though, as she soon realized Umbrella's influence reached out further than just USA and Europe.
Billy Coen:
Immediately after parting with Rebecca, Billy laid low for a while, not returning to civilization until a week or so after the events at the training facility. He didn't opt to go back to Raccoon City though, considering his current status. Instead he went to a further off town to recollect himself. From there, he didn't stay in one place very long, hopping around the state until he finally was able to collect back some pieces of his old life, go under a new name and manage to leave the country. For the next year, he worked hard to earn enough money to go and do something he didn't think he'd ever get a chance to- That would be to return to Africa and help the more unfortunate communities. Innocent or not, he deeply regretted the actions of his troop and wanted to make up for the horrible crimes committed.
It was an ideal place for him to lay low, off the radar more than he could ask for. As far removed as it was from his past life, Billy finally felt a sense of peace and stability. That was, until villagers began to disappear from the area. Mostly young people began to vanish without a trace over the next year of Billy's life in Africa. No one could figure out who or what was doing this, and it seemed almost an ideal situation for the perpetrator considering that it was a small place disregarded by most of the world. Billy knew he had to step up and put his old training to use and find who was responsible for the alleged kidnappings.
It was during this time Rebecca finally located him with the help of Sheva, who was equally devastated about the disappearing young people. Rebecca pleads with Billy to join her and the other STARS, as they need all the help they can get- Anyone who knows the truth about Umbrella. Billy is tentative about the idea, especially since the people he lives with desperately need his help. Hoping to persuade him, Rebecca decides to help Billy out first with the missing persons. As it turns out, Umbrella's grasp reaches all over the world. The pair discovers they have been abducting young people for their Tyrant projects (much like in Gun Survivor), especially remote areas that go unnoticed by most of the world. Along with some help from Sheva, they continue on to stop the abductions, and track where the victims are being taken to.
*I kinda want them to have another "game", but I didn't really want to bring actual BOWs and such to Africa. I'm still gonna work on this idea some to make it more "playable".

Prologue
November, 1998... only a month has passed since Raccoon City was wiped off the map. The world watched in horror and confusion as the event unfolded. What kind of horrible disease could turn humans into the living dead, warping animals and even plants into monstrous abominations? Only the surviving members of STARS knew the truth... Umbrella Incorporated, the world-known pharmaceutical company was merely a front for their studies in biological weaponry and warfare. The STARS team were no longer alone in their fight for justice however...
Another survivor managed to escape Raccoon City, bearing the burden of the

Yeah, it would've been nice to have some of these exotic locations actually make sense for the overarching story.

Yeah more exploration rather than create shitty new stories. I just managed to finish playing RE0 and decided to search some fanart of it here and stumbled upon this one. I wish if it were true, and nice title btw lol It's just sad to have these characters left out, very underrated to be honest. And CAPCOM's way of giving Rebecca the attention back didn't work out with their latest animated movie. They victimised her than made her a powerful character, so sad.

Yeah, the whole situation really is just a shame. The series honestly should've just ended some time after Code Veronica; wrap things up and have a final conclusion, some actual closure. Now Chris is on roids, Leon is an emo drunk, etc. And none of it is nearly as "moving" or "deep" as some people make it out to be, it's just typical cliche junk, when the original games used to be such innovators. It really is sad.

I kind of wish that RE5 was about Billy returning to Africa to help the locals after what happened in RE0 with his military unit. That would have certainly made sense for a game set in Africa!

Yep if there's one thing Capcom hates it's sequels that make sense.

Oh god. I remember when me and a friend would sit down and design our own RE games. For some reason, the only time we used Rebecca was as a villain. We imagined that after B.O.W.s started popping up despite Umbrella's fall, she and some other scientists would form a government-funded program designed specifically to find treatments/medications to combat the viral threats. But after one of the founder's gets threatened by a terrorist group, several researchers would have some virus slipped into their system to control their minds, which would include Rebecca. While most of the researchers kept working on combating B.O.W.s, Rebecca and several others would start creating B.O.W.s and a new virus (we never decided what this new virus would improve upon). All would be under the impression that it was all necessary to reach their goals, but things would start to go wrong when Rebecca started needing stronger doses. Rebecca would fight her hypnosis in the form of hallucinations of her deceased comrades (including Billy) constantly trying to convince her of what she was really doing. When the program gets investigated, with either Jill, Chris, or Barry being part of the investigation, Rebecca will believe that they're there to ruin all she's worked for. Rebecca would show up several times to create obstacles and try to stop whoever the lead would be, going as far as to infect co-workers.
I doubt Capcom or die-hard fans would have been happy with Rebecca becoming a villain.

The people that love Rebecca do love her a lot so they'd probably be heartbroken if she went bad. Unless of course, it was only fan-fiction Weskerfied bad... >_> But honestly, I think it's an interesting prospect to have her maybe fall to the allure of Umbrella's science. She's allegedly a medical genius and all, it might be something she'd find tough to refuse.

I'd pity any writer told they have to make a Wesker-version of Rebecca. I'd imagine Rebecca as a sad, scared villain. One that tries to swing the hero to their point of view and protect their research at all cost. Like a younger Birkin. I am a fan of Rebecca and I would be alright with Rebecca going bad as long as it as written well. Though we are talking about a company not known for its brilliant writing. Β Β Rebecca's fascination with the T-virus has been experimented with the novels, so this would be like taking it all the way. Not like Capcom is going to listen to a random fan.

True enough.
Perhaps the new look also keeps him off the radar, though you would think that Rebecaa might've stood for him in court or something to clear his name...but than again she was one of those S.T.A.R.S who became a joke after the whole mansion incident so...yea.

Dawww. Yeah, I wanted to bring him back just so there's clarity on him. Even though I'd assume realistically he'd just want to go about his life since he's supposedly unknown to Umbrella (except Wesker I guess) and declared as dead. But at the same time I'd rather drag him back into this instead of making more people!
