Description
I took a commission to build Samus Aran's pistol from Metroid: Other M. This was built in about 2 months, and it's a one-off build. Primary construction includes layered 1/4" MDF and layered 2mm sintra. The pistol was built hollow to accommodate electronics (the barrel lights up when you pull the trigger) and to help reduce weight when holstered in the thigh holster. The entire project included the pistol, a vacuum-formed holster, and a custom made thigh pad to which the holster attaches.Photo is © David Reimer and may not be used, edited, or reposted without permission.

There are no castings of this available. It was not molded for any sort of reproduction. The description states that this is a one-off build.

yea I saw that. Would you ever make it again, or one-off build means once only?

I really don't like the idea of building another copy of something I've previously made, unless it's just casting up something from a mold (which, on this project, there aren't molds to work from). I much prefer to finish a project and more forward onto other, different, more challenging builds. So unless I end up getting an overwhelming amount of commission requests for this pistol (where I would see the need to make a mold), or a handful of people are willing to pay my fees for it, I won't be revisiting this build anytime soon. :-/
