You obviously found the weak point of the picture, namely a slightly imperfect focus.
The conditions of shooting:
- The kitten is very young and hyperactive
- The photo was taken in mid-morning, the light came from the window behind the cat, left
- Canon 6D, 50mm f 1.4 lens
- ISO 125, F 1.8, 1/50 s
I should have opened 2.0 or 2.4 and increased the ISO to 200 or even 400.
I worked the photo with DxO Optics Pro (to treat the raw file) and DxO Film Pack, which proposed me this treatment called Cappuccino.
You have understood the parallel I wanted to establish between the kitten and me, the expression of melancholy that we had in common (the title is very important for a photo).
Congrats, and thank you, your criticism is very fair and well thought out. If I had to take a similar shot, I will think to this better aperture!
